That's intense training. Archaic, but smart. Really the best way to condition yourself is through hard training. It's how you get stronger bones and techniques. All of you should watch how the Shaolin train as well.
I love Kyokushin BUT... i find it too archaic they have never upated one rule: weight rule.
I was 72Kg, 1,72m tall, and many times i had to spare with guys weighting 100 Kg or more, 2,00m tall. That was a tragedy. I had cracked teeth and cracked ribs.
So, i couldnt carry on. I guess Kyokushin loses so many people into their gyms because of this. shame. the old traditional way of being extremist.
@lvdjn This is what makes kyokushin great, If you went to an MMA gym you would have had the same expirence, its that toughness that makes the style great, while other styles who don't train as hard are fading into obscurity because of MMA Kyokushin is still going strong on the K-1 circuit because of this, its a strength not a weakness.
Ok, good point, but in practise, is still too dangerous as one is not even allowed to use gum shields.
I practised mma at its very beginning as i am from brasil and when mma was just a baby, i was already there training... although i didnt compete because there were no much rules at that time.
I agree with the part of the street fight. But i dont have to train unprotected always waiting one day i will face some street fighters and fight unprotected. I can train protected and leave injuiries for street fights if ever happens.
But thanks, I am not against it because I think there is a room to every taste. some love Judo, some not etc.... But thanks.

Thats martial arts period! There are no weight rules!
I grew up under GM Ki Whang Kim (Taekwondo TangSooDo). Because GM Kim had trained in Japan under Toyama Kanken our training was just like Kyokushin Karate. I was a kid getting hit by the older black belts with no pads and couldnt complain or cry about it.
And the reason for this is because what are you gonna do when you get into a street fight....tell the person "Oh wait you're bigger then me. I cant fight you."
@lvdjn What would you do if you are faced with the same sized individual in the street? Consider yourself lucky you fought in the Dojo environment. In the street, your opponent can come in any size and shape. Kyokushin training is meant to prepare you for that.
@lvdjn That's what a real Martial Art was created for. It's not a kind of sport which you could enjoy in while"always" fighting a person similar to your size. It's purpose itself is for your own good. What's the point IF you win against "MANY" people in your training place coz they're as big as you but lose to "A" big guy out there who doesn't even know martial art?! Don't give up! Keep going! It's not about you want to do it or not. It's about you Do it or not. :)
