  • The DSCB were at their best up to about the mid 50's. They were then at the top of their game.

  • Hallo Bob.

Dat waren nog eens tijden !

De D.S.C. uit de periode 1948 t/m 1955 is hun beste periode en nadien ongeëvenaard gebleven.

    Paul Zelders.

  • Teddy Wilson talks about them in his documentary~

  • i love and enjoy the good old fashiond Americana classic

  • A gem!

  • The whole version, although in a very bad optical quality, can be seen on the DSC Homepage under FOTO/FILM / 35 years DSC, part 1

  • "Gems of Jazz" was my first DSC LP in the fifties with all those lovely tunes as Jazz me Blues, Apex Blues, Fidgety Feet, Absent minded Blues etc.

  • Oh wonderful memories!

  • It should be noted that the sound is the 78rpm recording of the tune, not the tv production from which the film clip is from. The sound of muted brass is heard, but Kees van Dorsser and Wim Kolstee play on open horns in the pictures.

  • This was the band and the very tune that persuaded me to buy a clarinete in 1955. Never cracked it, however!

    Thanks for sharing this clip.

  • oh this is a truly awesome clip. I never thought I'd get to see them at the start of their careers, and they're obviously enjoying themselves by the look of things, is there anymore?

  • Just as I remember them. My first LP's were this era. Thank you for posting it.

  • Okay Bob,

This was for me the start too!!

    Thanks!!

  • Isn't it nice that a clip like this still exists

  • Yes, it's great and I'm sure there's more than this 54 seconds!!
