The Interpol website has changed, being updated - new album out in the next few months so that means gigs.

Get yourself along to a show and wait outside afterwards. I ganrantee you'll meet him, maybe not the others, but Daniel always meets fans after shows. I've met him a few times!

and when they came down to california, i was blessed because i was walking around before the show and i stood outside by the tour bus, no one else was around there was no barricade or anything and i got to meet him, of course i was paralyzed i couldnt even ask him anything that i wanted to.. ugh until next time! lol

No, at this point I think the song was unfinished. This was recorded in 2001, and TOTBL came out in 2002. So I think this song was completed musically at this point, but not lyrically.

They were only invited to this show a matter of days before it happened in France. So I imagine they used the track, even though it wasn't finished, because their musical log at that time will have been quite limited.

It's not obvious from this video clip. But you should definetly look up some other Route du Rock-video's. It's so obvious in a song like Obstacle 1 where Paul sounds really bad and forgets the lyrics. He comes up with some hilarious made up lyrics, great improvisation for a drunk. I can really laugh about it.
