hey I search a game like this but the graphic is like nes and its on pc I think, its a old game, you have to destroy the team abse with your ship and the game play its like this video but in less color.can some one know the name of this old game?
Do the spaceships use Torque as well as velocity? I'm currently trying to write AI to control a ship from {position, velocity, rotation, angular momentum} to some final conditions, and having no luck =/
@QRebound I played around with that, and I found that adding any real amount of torque made things annoying to steer. You can actually see that as soon as I stop turning the ships stops cold - I found this was favorable to gameplay.
As for stopping on a point... Well, that's annoying when you can't instantly change your direction, as you're seeing. I got it working to do some formation flying for team games, but never implemented a full version I was happy with.
Hey!! I have a good suggestion. What about program a free and open source software to easily make 2D space shooter games, which the user can easily create it by drawing or drag & drop objects to the screen and modify some atributes like weapons, special weapons, armors, initial space speed, add some good introduction and etc??
This was all by yourself? I'm in an AP computer science class (senior in high school), but we just learn some stuff in java. Did you use any specific tutorials online or take outside classes?
Yeah, this was all me my senior year of highschool. I taught myself - I started with internet tutorials, moved to buying lots of books (I have a small library now) and just made sure to put in 3-4 hours of work daily on getting better at programming.
Looks sweet!

Well, Spaced Out 4 was supposed to be a lot more editable, but unfortunately the project evaporated.
When I have some more free time sometime, maybe.

So do you play 'Z' being normal shot and 'X' being the better shop, while [Shift] makes it easier to move? :)

Haha, nope... I couldn't rip Touhou off for this game because I hadn't played it yet =)
The game is a lot like subspace though, if you've played that =P

@SadisticPenguinOfAND That it truly is, except you modeled the weapons better. The credits and ship upgrade stuff reminds me of the Hyperspace zone.

Hey I tried this game out and it was really fun. Can't wait for SO4, maybe more people will come with better netplay. =)

The dynamics look pretty fluid. =) It looks like it could be fun. I'll give it a try when I have time to.

Sadly none, it never took off (but then again, this is the closest I've ever come to advertising it.)
