I hope to be going to the next olympics for archery! I've been shooting for 5 years now and have won so many 1st places and medals. I'm only 18, but I was told I could be going to the next olympics. =] Yay!
I started shooting one year ago, when I was 18, I never expected to be now one of the bests of my country, which obviously doesn't have enought archers, but the point is that never is too late to start and dream
moreover we have 2 more years, due to that the most important qualification event is in the 2011 archery outdoor world championship, and for that time is very possible to be prepared to qualify.
China needs to learn some spectator manners. Archery as well as Tennis is a sport that requires tremendous amount of focus and concentration. Whistle blowing and noise making never happens in any other country, except China. Really shows the level of the people there.
what the hell do you mean by that?! customs are not a international thing. they vary from place to place. dont look done upon them for something so irrelevent. they make all of your stuff
the Chinese showed terrible manner and sportsmanship by blowing whistles and coughing whenever it was the Korea's turn to shoot. China does not even have the manners to play fair, I laugh at your claim that the Chinese archer beat the Korean archer.
yeah that was pretty funny, there was this video of them training and they had korean drill instructors yelling and screaming in their ears trying to get them to screw up..... but they didnt.
its about time archery got some promotion as well! shame about the GB womens team today, but they did well. Look out for the womens paralympic team next month, they will be kicking some serious arse!
I know by saying this i'll probably get yelled at but, compound bows do ALL the work for you! it takes all the guess work and real talent out of SHOOTING!
No it doesn't take all the skill out of it. It requires a different skill set. They are different disciplines, neither is more difficult to master than the other. I've shot longbow for nearly 10 years and compound with release aid for nearly 2, both engage me in different ways and I enjoy the differences between them. It's simplistic to say that one requires more skill than the other.
no joke. Its no mystery that traditional shooting is tougher than compound archery, but, traditional shooters dont shoot the scores that compound arhers shoot. So saying that it takes ALL the work out of it, is pretty ignorant. saying that shooting the same scores with your recurve as i do with my compound, then i would agree that youre the better archer.
There are several factors to being sponsored. I wouldn't post this question because sponsorship is a touchy area for some people, and You Tube isn't the best sight for this question. My advice for the short term is to not worry about it, and if the time comes they will come to you, as in most cases.

That's good to hear. I've been shooting for about close to 8 years now, but I'm a late bloomer and didn't start shooting until I was 19.

Yes. It varies from place to place. That is why I'm saying that the majority of the people in China has a low level of common sense and manners.

gold medal doesnt lie

im korean and i loled at that wen china tried to distract the koreans
they say its harder to get into korea archer team then it is to win a gold medal
they take u to a haunted theme park and force u to shoot with all the distractions, so the chinese "sounds" hardly phased them lol

dude theyre alowed to use sights and stablizers and all that shit man, the only difference is that theres no let off or mechanical relese
metallicatilldeathhh 3 years ago
another importan difference is that the sight with the level cannot be used in recurve bow.
and the physical power you use in the recurve is almost not existent in the compound

I agree with you 100%, I shoot longbow in archery and shooting a compound bow takes not near the amount of skill or work required as a longbow.
