  • so whats the diff between hvr and pvr

  • @xsuckitmodzx The Hauppauge PVR cards are only able to take an analogue signal whereas the HVR cards can take a Freeview/DVB-S/HD satalite depending on the model

  • widescreen?

  • i miss those Days when xbox was like that

  • Can you play in HD and record?

  • No, I don't even record while playing, there's too much input lag because I run with a direct connection from my Xbox to the capture card.

I can only record if it's the dashboard or if it's with Halo 3's theater mode.

  • So......how do you reduce input lag?

  • There isn't a way to reduce input lag except for splitting off your connection from the 360 so that one connection goes to the tv and one goes to the capture card.

  • Not sure what you mean. What do you mean by "splitting off your connection". If I connected it directly to my LCD monitor I wouldn't be able to record my gaming sessions with Fraps (or similar capturing software).

  • You'd have to buy a RCA splittler, so that you could for instance split off the video coming from the 360 so that one set of cables goes to your cap card and the other set goes to your TV.

  • @Jitran123 with the right version of the card and software that came with the card, not windows 7 you can play with out lag.

  • how did you get rid of the input lag from when you press a button to when the system responds?

  • Which settings did you use for input in the WinTV program? No matter what I try, I just get a blank screen.

  • Is it too laggy to play on xbl thru that card onto your pc?

I have a USB cap card and it is too laggy to play so I am looking for a new one.

  • you just need to get splitters. only cards that have video in and out will work with no lag. just get video and audio splitters and youll be good to go

  • i have a similar card coming in the mail and i'm ready to start showing my pwnage to all of youtube

  • i think i have the same one, but it has just one cable, which is an "IR Reciever". is that all i need to use this capture card? i'm confused

  • where did you buy this capture card

  • It came pre-installed with my PC from Best Buy

  • what did you hook up to record the sound? i dont see a sound thing on my Hauppauge.(its internal)

  • Mine is a little different, since i got it from HP, there is a panel in the front of the tv where you can plug in the red and white audio cables, use music when you're editing you video instead.

  • btw are you friends with Secretagentdeez?

  • lol nope, is he on XBL or PSN??

  • xbl lol i thpught you might be friends with him cuz you had similar names hehe

  • i have a problem, my screen is flashing does anyone know why?

  • call Hauppauge or the manufacturer of the capture card that you have

  • hmmm ill have to....i can record tv perfectly but when i want to record a game it flickers.....alternitavely i can record in black and white (on my videos)

  • change your 360 settings to 50htz.

  • yea i have, and it works but i play cod mostly lol so i still hav 2 get another recorder

  • Hey, could you please record some gameplay? I might buy this capture card, but I just can't find some gameplay recorded with that capture card.

  • sorry, it's too laggy for me because i don't have a second screen to record it on.

  • i think i will

  • Alright, could you reply to this message once you have uploaded a video of your Hauppage?

  • yes i will

  • Ok, i finally got around to opening my S-video, RCA convector and I plugged the RCA in my TV and the S-Video in my card. I opened the WinTV software and tried putting the output to the "S-Video setting". It wouldn't do it. Am I doing something wrong? Should I not use WinTV? I don't care that much, but help would be nice, you can respond or PM me.

    Thanks

  • Since your input signal comes from a composite video (RCA) source, then your WinTV card would expect it to be composite, and not an S-Video.

  • does this come with editing software? Also what other items do you need to get it set up ? Thanks. Please private message back

  • how did u record it

  • there was an option to record once you install the card and the software for it

  • What do you do after you connect the xbox 360's red, white, and red cables onto, I did this, but now I don't know what to do.

I want to see it on the monitor.

  • Is there any lag when you play Xbox live, or just any lag at all

  • How did you get it in HD?

  • add "&fmt=18" to the end of the url, but take away the quote

  • On my card, I have the same one, I only have red and white (audio) and an S-video slot. It is already installed and everything.

  • do you need help with getting video, if so then just go online and search up "S-Video to RCA" find the one that has an S-Video cable with pins and a end that you can plug the yellow cable into.

  • Ok, I think that is what I need. BTW, the card came on the motherboard when I bought the PC.

I think I can get one of these at radioschack

    Thanks

  • yea you should be able to pick it up at there, if not best buy or even eBay.

  • can sum1 please tell me how to install mine, message me.

  • do you have one that goes inside of your computer?

  • i got that theme also.

  • which thing do you use to make shots of ur tv without using any camera.

  • To make recordings I just use a capture card, and i plug in the red white and yellow cables from my 360 into the ports on the capture card and go into Win TV and record from there.

  • wow man how do u get such good quality?

  • well im not actually playing a game, so i dont know if the gameplay quality will be better, ill test that out soon

  • I use the same theme

  • nice, i like it

  • ive got the same theme aswell :)
