The situation is that the younger guy is the son of a workmate and good friend of the older guy, which is why he's hesitating, but later in the show we learn the younger guy did not come home that night.....

however the younger guy was already partnered

this was a show that had several gay characters, none of whom was the obvious stereotype, so it was very refreshing on that count.

It's from a Canadian TV show, Regenesis, it's a really cool series, syndicated internationally now, brilliant soundtrack

The older actor is Conrad Pla, the younger is Stephen Amell, who was also in the first season of Dante's Cove
