This may not be the greatest movie ever, but it is the best rock and roll movie ever made. This is from a guy who has been bashing it out playing my own music in bars for longer than most of you have been alive.Ha! It was first called Born To Run, but they couldn't get ok'ed by Columb to use that song. Bruce saw the movie and wrote L O Day for them.

Rumor is that Joan wrote I Hate Myself For Loving You to MJF.

I know Joan is normally associated with women, I know she digs some boys 2. ;)

I disagree with all of those that feel Joan shouldnt have been casted for the role of Patty. Considering that Joan Jett is a rock star and NOT a MOVIE star I think its fair enough to say that she did a pretty good job acting. In my opinion Michael J Fox and Joan had alot of chemistry on set and they did very well together. I think people are being too critical and really should lay off. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is mine.

The drummer and I were in the same class in music school back in 1986 (Musicians Institute, Hollywood). The movie people came in and said they were auditioning drummers for this part, so we and a few others tried out. I was too camera-shy and he wasn't. Alex P Keaton and Joan Jett, both sporting awful mullets and playing in "The Bar Busters"......Does it get any more cringe worthy? This was panned by critics and virtually ignored by audiences and Joan deserves an award for the one of the most unconvincing acting jobs of the decade. Hey, to each his/her own, I guess. I don't mean to pick on you, I just can't believe that you referred to this film as "the greatest"

The director, Paul Schrader, always went for a live take: sometimes it didn't work, but it did here. They're all playing live.....I would have paid to see Joan Jett front this group somewhere.
