This is way too funny! As young people in High School, we used to mouth off to those Health and Highway Safety movies. The imitation of a Wah Pedal is flawless! Thanks for giving these P.S.A. films the good slap they so richly deserve!
Oh wow, this is definately your best work! Hillarious! I love how they tried to make this guy into some kind of hot shot. You should do some more of these 70's shorts. They bring back memories for me. Where do you find them?
God I love Leslie Nielson. Bomb eating Mogwai. This is what the bomb squad needs to look into investing in... As per the tnt sweat, I still remember a MacGyver episode that dealt with that, and more recently an episode of Lost. Much more tense than a cap.
What if we use blasting caps to take out the high school musical people? Are the caps still a threat then or have they become a tool for bettering the community?
You bring up an excellent point. However, I believe that would be under the intended uses of the caps. It would be "bettering our community" for sure! ;)
But you know, it occurs to me that the short broke one of the cardinal rules of film: Anything marked as "Explosive" in a movie WILL explode at some point. That guys car definately should have blown up.
According to our explosives dude in the short, they were losing track of like 100,000 a year or something ridiculous like that. Maybe they should have aimed educational shorts at the idiots losing the damn things, instead of kids.
Wow, were there actual guys who dealt with blasting caps? And I thought in the 1970s the biggest threat to American freedoms were bugged phones at the hotels.
"Ohp, Sorry I just teleported" XD That would have been epic the video skipped again when he about dropped his hat. That guys supposed to be handling explosives? He reaks of Glavin. Great Job!
lolz@ "wakkachikawakkachicka" (nod to servo), Village People song quotes, "I wasn't touching myself," what explosives have done, "just teleported," "population control," and "label w/ a label maker."
I'm hearing your MN accent for the first time, too.
Seen "Nostalgia Chick?" I'd love to do an entire movie, host segs and all, with you me and her. (she doesn't know this, lol.) I think she's the same age as us too. Weird how that happens. Check her out, she's hilarious.
Haha thanks for the comment and the quotes RiffChick.
Uff-da, it's showing? Oh dear.
I'll be sure to check out her vids. I just watched a little of one and it seemed pretty brilliant. Oh and I'm probably not wholly against the entire movie thing, just wonder if I will have the time. Keep in touch on it though, and let me know your ideas!
oh yeah the time thing is big for me too. it would take a while. and here's how it would work: I'd animate the shadows and host segs. I'm still working on our first collaboration - you're "catbot" in that, remember? he animates pretty well. See, that way she could come from wherever, me from PA, and you from MN and meet in cyberspace through the magic of adobe flash.

My great grandfather blew up some stumps with explosives once. You could just walk into a store and buy TNT.
Man, I wish the world was like that now.
MariomanProductions 3 years ago
That's crazy.
Yeah, but there are plenty of crazies that would use that stuff for less than good intentions.
And then these house-calling safety-men would be very busy...And who would want that? ;)

But you know, it occurs to me that the short broke one of the cardinal rules of film: Anything marked as "Explosive" in a movie WILL explode at some point. That guys car definately should have blown up.

I don't think I saw this as a kid, but I do remember commercials warning about blasting caps back in the 70s.
Interesting that no one raised the question of whose garage that was and if maybe they had the right to have some blasting caps.
GoblinXXX 3 years ago
I saw a couple of other videos on it too. Must have been a big problem back then.

LMAO! I have to be honest, when I first read the title, I was like, "uh, is this about what I THINK it's about?"
I'm having way too much fun yelling KABOOM! every couple of minutes! Thanks soiledshortz!
TomMSTie 3 years ago
LOL, yeah, when the explosives guy said "Are the blasting caps in here?" and touched the garage door, I shouted BOOM!
GoblinXXX 3 years ago
I think I did that too. JINX!
