the nodules made her vocal registers disconnected, she could do the low register falsetto and whistle note with ease but the mid range was damaged, she needed rest to recover, christmas special was fantastic, her voice got better after a long rest

@truongphan90 im not blaming her for lipping, she absolutely CANT sing live all the time. and nobody can say anything about her because she always sang live in the first 7 years of her career. maybe 1 time in 94 and 1 time in 95 and a couple imtes in 1996 but that's it. she started lipping my all and butterfly in 97/98 and from 1999 and on she lipped more. but im honestly happy that she did and i wish she started lipping even before :P

@iiAmitx3 I agree with u in some things, but I think she shouldn't go on tour in 1997. Butterfly Tour take a toll in her voice, same with Rainbow Tour. Her voice was in very great shape from 2001 to 2004, in some performances she sounded like her old self. TEOM tour was good but, again, was atrocious for her voice. All this woman needs is a big rest! Twins saved her voice, I'm sure (sorry 4 my english, is so bad LOL)

Imagine HOW GOOD was a live performance of Oh Holy Night at that point of her carrer! she was at her vocal peak, and judging by the vocals of JTTW she was on fire that night!

Especially the You and I performance at Stevie Wonder Tribute, that was heavily dubbed, I have a clip (not the whole performance though) and they changed so many notes... She re-recorded almost every riff, but the whistle and the B4 belt are the originals!

If you've ever tried singing along to one of her songs, especially this one, you'll know its not easy. It's understandable she missed that falsetto note but even though, she still sounded pretty amazing and that beginning whistle note gave me chills.

@melfalcon2013 IDK because I'm a guy, unless you can consider falsetta a male's version of her whistle. I use my "head voice" to sing higher than my actual range. I'm guessing that's what she does? She has a huge range, but I'm guessing she has a gap between her actual singing voice and her whistles. I know I certainly have like a two octave gap between my falsetta and my upper "Chest voice." Does that answer your question?

Yeah sense her nodes on her vocal cords started to go at full swing her voice got a darker texture, more raspier belt, but her breathier voice got alot more pronounced, and her high notes [whistle] got alot lighter, and vivid. In contrast to how she had alot of belting power, and sharp whistle notes back in her hay day with a clear belting abilitty moving from one note to another as smooth as chocolate.
