  • I don´t believe it! I stumbled upon this video and recognized Bill immediately...we went to the same school in WNY and his Dad was a teacher there. I´m going to start a raw food diet tomorrow, and seeing how happy Bill is made me even more determined to do it... my juicer´s revved up and rarin´to go! Say hi to Bill from Jill in Germany! :-))

  • I would love to hear from Bill again and how his raw food diet continues to change his life!

  • I am going to hop over to his Facebook page now and ask him if he will come on here and share : )

  • YES, still practicing a high raw lifestyle. "Experimented" over the holidays to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. All kinds of bad effects: mucus, sneezing joint pain, disjointed sleep patterns, low energy, unbelievable cravings, irritability, . Katy and I just feel sooo much better eating mostly raw. Can't tell you how much energy and confidence I have as 2010 begins! Ramping my commitment for the next round of wellness benefits. How about a follow-up video in spring sometime? ;)

  • Good luck on your raw Journey. I think you will find that it just keeps getting better & better. Ronnie & Minh

  • I love this video! He's down to earth, and is very sincere. I going to try raw. I'm 50 and could stand to loose 90 pounds. I have Fibromyalgia and there is a history of Diabetes in my family. I'm very fatigued all the time and I want to make a life change by getting healthy. Should I start out by water fasting or should I just start eating raw? Where should I begin? Any suggestions?

    Thanks :)

  • Congrats on your decision! Best resource for you will be howtogetstartedwithrawfoods (dot) com. Good luck!

  • You awsome!! I am in transition vegetarian right now then raw.

  • great going! transition foods (nuts) are good, but keep your eye on the goal - go really 100% raw (nuts are not raw at all, try to plant them, they will not grow, as they are dead from being cooked at temps. in a dehydrator - sorry that is the truth, nuts are not really 'raw') go low fat raw - eat fruits and veggies! read the book 801010 by dr. doug graham!

  • Awesome, way to go man!!!

  • TOTAL transformation, well done Bill!

I loved this video - he makes soooo many great points.

Key things for me were that he thought even being veggie was weird, but then once he EXPERIENCED something different there was a total mindset shift.

Secondly, I loved how he said he didn't follow any rules - he just eats what he wants and still loses weight.

Anyone else want to lose 39lbs by accident? Lol. Love it.

What a lovely, warm, friendly and inspirational guy.

    Well done, Bill.x

  • Wow this man has inspired me to keep on going. I'm starting my first week raw, after falling off the raw wagon after 5 months 100% raw. I'm so disapointed in myself I went on holiday and struggled to find raw food. Next time I'll go self catering and make my own. I will let this guy inspire me this week , hes looks so happy and healthy.

  • p.s. My morning juice consists of:

carrots, spinach, kale, 1 small beet, cucumber, wheat grass, apple, pineapple, green grapes, and sometimes pear. It is so tasty!

  • I am currently taking baby steps to become raw, and I am now at the point when I eat meat or cooked food I feel sick physically. I don't know why I am taking so long to put two and two together. It just shows how much of an addiction food can be. I eat raw, I am full of energy and I feel great. I eat fast food or pretty much anything cooked and I feel sick, sluggish etc.. This is a great testimony. Thank you for sharing.

  • I'm fascinated and intrigued, but still must try it to know if it could affect me the same. I really want to, after watching this video.

  • There are no exceptions : )

  • really good testimony, i'm really tempted to try this! it seems like it's so much more satisfying and better for your body than any cooked diet

  • You'd better believe it ; )

  • i wish my hubby would listen to this fella. im gonna lead by example until he wakes up. however, ive lost 75 pounds and my son has lost 50 since i began eating as raw as i can. the house is full of veggies.

  • Wow congratulations!

  • that's a great story, thanks for sharing it. i don't think there's any way i can switch to 100% raw diet, but i want to go a lot more raw. inspiring vid though. i never considered a dehydrator either so i'll have to check that out (already got the vitamix and a breville juicer as well). are there dehydrators you recommend?

  • Dehydrators aren't necessary, but they do make nice treats! I don't own one, but then again I'm not 100% raw nor do I plan on going 100%. I just don't see a problem with a little cooked root vegetables and good grains/legumes.

  • thanks, that's helpful. yea, you would probably scream if you heard what i eat, so to me, cooked root vegetables and stuff aren't a sin. i haven't even given up meat. i'd like to slowly transition into more of a raw diet though. i eat a lot of chocolate too, which i'm assuming isn't a "raw" food :). i read green for life, but there wasn't a lot of science in it. this guy's story is compelling though

  • haha, as long as you continue making an effort it's all good, hooray! I went vegetarian overnight, and vegan within 1 week (struggled for a couple months though, missed my cheese!) but I changed my diet so drastically that my "healthy" plan actually backfired. I was eating so many new foreign things that my body freaked and I struggled with SEVERE indigestion for several months. I researched and decided to get a colonic and did a long fast. It changed my life! Now I feel healthier than ever!

  • i just made up a bunch of juice today with parsley, spinich, apples, carrots and celery(sp) and it came out pretty good. oh man, i would REALLY miss cheese and dairy. i dont think i can go vegetarian and certainly not vegan. i have a lot of guilt about what i eat though and what animals go through. and i REALLY dont need severe indigestion for months. i dont want to go through what you did. i want to slowly transition to a more healthy diet. that's great that it worked so well for you!

  • mm your juice sounds yummy. If you feel really bad about what you eat you can always make sure to buy organic dairy from pasture-raised cows. same with meat (pleease avoid industrialized meat at all costs for the sake of love!!). One of the big reasons why I had such bad indigestion was because I was practicing the WORST food combining ever. And turns out that I have a bit of gluten intolerance (started eating a lot of wheat bread on veg diet lol) and soy intolerance!

  • i usually use celery/apples/carrots as a base for most juices and it seems to work. i shop at a food co-op and everything there is organic. i've had some pretty bad stomach acid at times too but i attributed it to stress mostly. my ex was on a gluten free/casin(spelling?) diet, so i tried it for awhile. can't say i liked it. but there are a lot more gluten free bakeries and stuff around. expensive though

  • I have heard several vegan and raw food experts say that we aren't really craving the cheese or dairy we are craving the fat. That is why it is often easier to give up meat than cheese. I know that is definitely true for me and it was helpful for me to realize the distinction. Just something to think about.

  • That may be true, but just as likely it is the salt they are craving. Cheese is high in salt.

  • i come from a family of salt-eaters, it's true (salting everything from apples to salads to spaghetti). but i don't know how much of it i attribute to "cravings" or just enjoyment of food. right now i'm eating swiss muesli and no, i'm not going to try it with tofo milk :). but i'll try to phase in more and more raw food. your vids are very helpful to me

  • @ isaachaze1: it can still make a HUGE difference being 50 to 90% raw. I already know I'll never go 100% raw every day. But the benefits are amazing, still. Effortless weight loss, mood balancing, energy increasing...so many things. And you can always pump it up with juice feasting, colonics & other detoxing activities, when needed. I do raw dairy, nuts and lots of sushi. Also other meats sometimes. Still love a variety of foods but want them less often - happens naturally.

  • Also the more raw food prep you do at home the easier it will be. Lots of great teaching videos here...I can't swear I'll never use a microwave again (and I *WILL* be eating that pasta bolognese or linguine w clams next time I visit Italy). But I traded mine in for a Nesco counter-top dehydrator. Making raw bread & crackers has helped a lot! + the raw version of a gazillion things can be made w practice. I have some raw food Playlists of other Youtuber's videos, if u want some ideas.(o:

  • i think i would feel funny if i didnt eat meat. but i'll try to go more raw and yea, maybe work up to something like 50% or more. thanks for all the tips!

  • ok, thanks, that's helpful. i'll check out your youtube vids too to see what other people are doing. my plan is to ease into raw foods, but yea, i have a really hard time seeing myself giving up meat, dairy, processed sugar etc. i don't have cravings per se, but i get a lot of enjoyment out of food. i'm going to check out the dehydrators. right now i have a breville juice fountain, a vitamix and a zojirushi rice maker. but man, i eat a lot of crap like pizza, ribs, hamburgers, chocolate etc.

  • The EXCALIBUR for sure.

  • Awesome story.

    Karen you rawk!!

  • Tip... Back the camera off about 2 more feet. Message is very good in that we should not let food rule our life. I have found not every one can go raw cold turkey, but need to find the raw foods they like and start working them into their diet, some people find a progressive approach better.

And I agree Vitamix ROCkS :-)

  • Thanks for the tip! Except... it was a handheld flip camera (tiny) and there was lots of background noise. Any further back and all quality would have been lost.

  • Hey, what happened to the ending?? :)

    Thanks for posting, Karen. :)

  • My flip camera ran out of space! We were lucky to get what we did, only missed 3 seconds of the ending : )

  • Wow, that's really inspirational. I'm sure your daughter is proud of you =)
