Best fighting game of its era and a complete breakthrough in game design. Although it's not in this video, I loved the multi-tiered levels and that fact that you could knock people down to lower levels, multiple ways even in different levels. The fighting was so fluid. My favorite Dreamcast game ever.

This is one of the only games that came out in 1999 (early 2000 for Dreamcast) which does not look dated at all. That's how ahead of its time it was.

@Xevnest24 Depends... It's as solid of a game as the later entries, although most of the positive aspects were carried over to the sequels. For most people, owning the newest entry in the series would be more than enough and you aren't missing much in doing so. However, as I said it's a solid entry in the series and worth having for collectors.

@Xevnest24 One of the few fighting games I can think of which I would recommend playing both to people would probably be Power Stone. The 1st and 2nd game have a surprisingly different focus and a lot of fans are divided between which one they like better.

DOA on the other hand, the differences between sequels are a lot more subtle and will primarily be appreciated by more hardcore fans. The majority of players won't care very much about gameplay tweaks/story, plus they added more characters.

OK well going back to DOA1

Kasumi wins the first tournament against a guy who almost kills her brother, but in order to get in the tournament she has to run away from her village ( she is a traitor to her clan for abandoning them, no matter how good her excuse was in their eyes). SO after winning DOA1 she has no home, so the company that runs the Dead or Alive tournament (I forgot the name) decides they need to make a fighting superpower to take over the world in their name.

SO then since she had just won the DOA1 tournament she was considered the strongest fighter in the world, they needed someone who who as strong if not STRONGER than the strongest fighter in the world. So since Kasumi had no home they chased her down, kidnapped her and then cloned her so that they could make a superfighter. She then goes on to kill the clone in the DOA2 tournament.

I don't think being 17 counts as being young anymore if anything she's an older teen almost 18. But every1 is getting confused by what I say I never said she was young I said she sounded young. If she looks/sounds older/younger to other ppl then we're confused on what she should look and sound like. Maybe they should have made her look 17 instead of looking younger. That's probably y her age wasn't revealed in the Pal and North American version and cos ppl thought she was too sexy for her age.

Well, you need to first, get Kasumi to fall off the edge. Then, you need to finish her off with an attack that sends Kasumi across the field. Then, you get that ending.

It depends. Sometimes, it's hard. Sometimes, it isn't. If you're a beginner, I'd definetly suggest starting on easy mode.
