That's why things get changed, including character design. The bats in the books can't see color, but we humans can, so the aesthetics have to be changed for us.

I've read the books and I think they are great. The story of the bat shade, at the beginning , it doesn't really interested me but when I've started to read, I can't lay back the books. But now, when I've seen the series, I noticed, that the bats aren't very...beautiful. When I read the book first time, I've a clearly prospect, how Shade is and Marina and the others, but I think, the series aren't same great like the books.

@BatKnowItAll They already had this on Disney. There was a period of time that they had a lineup of action cartoons where the lineup was called Jetix and this was the last show that they played at like 5:30 in the morning. I remember getting up at that time and watching it.

Idk about the violence factor since I've seen decent violence in old disney movies but I doubt they'd want to put too much money into it and probaly wouldn't make it as good as it could be. The insect you see here is called a Tiger Moth. It has the unique ability to send out a radar signal of its own, confusing any bat's echolocation into registering multiple moths.
For some reasons when the revolt happened and the wolves and Goth and Throb were trying to take over i kind of liked it, usually i dont like the villan(s) but goth is just to cool
this is terrible. the books are the best action/animal/mmystery books I've read. My favorite books ever! Oppel didnt describe any of the creatures like this. The book isnt childish, its actual more for mid teens and up. plus they dont talk like this, look like this, or talk 'gangsa' like this. Read the books!

ok lets straiten this out (sorry for my english) i have read silverwing, sunwing, and im still reading firewing. shade is not blue he is BLACK if you look on the cover of silver wing you can see that.Marina is not orange she is gray or lightblack you can also see that on the cover of silver wing. there are no trader gay pussyfucking fag elder that is on the ows side. there is NOT a huge battle of bears, wolfs, and owls.YES the owl leader does have a son that helps.

For some reasons when the revolt happened and the wolves and Goth and Throb were trying to take over i kind of liked it, usually i dont like the villan(s) but goth is just to cool

this is terrible. the books are the best action/animal/mmystery books I've read. My favorite books ever! Oppel didnt describe any of the creatures like this. The book isnt childish, its actual more for mid teens and up. plus they dont talk like this, look like this, or talk 'gangsa' like this. Read the books!

i think its funny how these books have a lot to do with the supernatural, especially in firewing with the underworld, Goth coming back to life, and the bat gods but in his new book darkwing there is none of that

I may be naive and stupid but I was hoping to make a movie out of it one day... :( This series may be really good but I haven't seen much of it yet but this was some what of my vision of what I would have done.

i saw the whole series and in the book goth breaks a owls neck but in this he just bumps him, and in the book shade says to chinook "no bat could kill a owl, there to big." then he met goth...
