@Chao772VersionIV Qoute from old Schoolstv site (Interview with Jim Stokoe designer): from 1987 the 3D ITV Rotating 'Holding Device' rotated its way to 1993. However, ITV changed its logos so why didn't the ITV animation get updated? According to Jim, "There were huge discussions as to whether there should be more, but four was determined by the usual four points of the compass, covering all of the network. It [ITV 3D Logos] also produced a more symbiotic design and looked better in execution".
@martin1000890 Because You seem to think that your comment is what "really happened" and the quote that I found on James's old schoolstv site is just a load of cobblers.
I remember being in my infant schools tv room, when the itv schools music came on all my class started singing it together, must have been drilled into all our heads lol
That Grampian endcap looks more 1983 than 1993. Grampian used the 1989 generic ident for the best part of a decade, long after every other region had ditched it.
replaced by AD's. The ITV Schools clock used for the 9.29 opening is used as the opening to ITV Schools programmes between january 4th -28th june 1993. but the ITV Schools clock
was reduced to 40 seconds only for the 9.29 opening. The ITV Schools rotation and clock were used through out the morning until 12noon.

The ITV logo reminds me of the Nintendo 64 logo

First of all if it's 1993 why haven't ITV Schools on C4 changed the ITV logo since ITV itself changed it's logo in 1989?

@benriggers
It's because people like the 3D Rotating Holding Device. and more people were watching itv schools on 4 and S4C than BBC2's schools programmes.

That ITV Schools music (with the clock counting down) sounds very Jean-Michel Jarre.

In 1993, I thought the ITV rotation was removed and the clock countdown was reduced to 40 seconds?
anicetune 3 years ago
Not quite anicetune.
Between the 4th january & the 28th june 1993.
The 9.25 opening and the 9.28 opening were
replaced by AD's. The ITV Schools clock used for the 9.29 opening is used as the opening to ITV Schools programmes between january 4th -28th june 1993. but the ITV Schools clock
