These debates about who's better between Brain and Herb need to stop. They are both equally skilled in their respective styles. Saying one is better than the other is like saying Apples are better than oranges, you're just stating opinion.
@MasterTC1994 Alexander is great and FrizzleFry is there best album but Brain is way better and way more original. Brain fits way better also as the music from Primus is always changing. The Brown Album is Brains best work!
brain is very sick is a goovy feel.. but saying alexander isnt a studio drummer.. dude tim could drum circles around him.. not only is tim have a better techy side but his gooves and beats are much more effective than brains.. but brain is still sick
I couldn't disagree more. Brains groove, timing and style is much smoother and more effective. Tim seems way more forced and rigid, both musically and chops wise. Brains playing flows well and also he has that olld school dirty style too, sort of like the old bebop and jazz guys had (Elvin Jones, Papa Joe Jones).
Hmm, actually Brain is far more schooled and eclectic studio drummer than Alexander is, who isn't a studio drummer. They just have different styles when playing with Primus.
I gotta say it: Alexander is a better drummer. However, Brain's style is just similar (and crazy) enough to make him match Primus. I like them both, really, but Alexander is much more... Well, eclectic.Still, badass solo from old Brain. Long live Primus!
Brain was turned down for an autograph by a cute girl in one of the other bands that night and he needed to vent his frustration for everybody.
