This was my Mamma's favorite song, She searched so hard for this album when I got married because she gave us her wedding set. I sure miss how we would set and listen to all of the good Old music. I have all her old records and sometimes listen to them and remember those times with her. Miss You Mamma & Daddy
jMagic, and more grew up on this song, and everytime I hear it, it gets better, what a voice, every pub in Liverpool you heard this, no juke box, no electronics, just someone would decide, that night he would sing and tell his wife what she meant to him, It was all in black in white those days, but he music was always full of colours.
wow...i love this song .. a gem.... true gem...locked in time.....the good old days...whish i could just do it all over again....just momeries is all thats left....
THIS IS THE ONLY SONG BY JIMMY ROSELLI THAT I EVER HEARD ON THE RADIO - BUT I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT EVERY RECORDING I COULD FIND OF HIS - WHAT A TALENT - THE FIRST TIME I EVER HEARD THIS SONG IT WAS SUNG BEAUTIFULLY BY NONE OTHER THAN GEORGE GOBEL - I'VE TRIED TO LOCATE IT FOR YEARS BUT NO LUCK - WISH JIMMY'S MOVIE HAD BEEN MADE !!
I miss Jimmy. He played the NY/NJ club scene for many, many years and had little ego desire to go national and get into the so-called bigtime, content to be a "neighborhood" guy with an ever-faithful legion of fans. Not for nuthin', but Jim is my favorite club singer of all time, bar NONE and that covers a lot of territory. He belted out those heartfelt lyrics and was one of the few men singers that could give you goose-bumbs. ALWAYS an easy-goin rapor with the audience. God Bless!
@northjean1 hi so lucky in my life recorded by freddy parrot face davies, and wrote by bill owen who played compo in last of the summer wine hv a nice day tk care x
Not my favorite by Jimmy, but still a wonderful tune. There's a radio station near my home that plays songs from the 40s through the 70s and year after year they announce that this is the station's most requested song.
Today is July 11 and we're celebrating our 52nd anniversary. However, as many times as we've thought of this song, and as hard as it is to believe, "silver does not crown" her hair, as it has remained the same all these years. Now mine however....
My Dad loved this tune.......he left me in January...
when I hear it I remember good times, values, love..many things that are lost to the current generation.....I love you Dad! Jimmie, great tune...thank you!
So happy to have found this song. My father used to sing this to my mother. They are both passed now, but these old songs brings back such warm memories of them.
When my Wife and myself first heard this song she loved it and would make her cry.She passed away in 1998 and I thought it would be nice to play at her funeral and I still listen to it. We were married 43 years and still held hands at the Mall.
I love this song. We were marrieed 48 years ago and endured problems along the way but still remain true to each other. The wedding rings are well worn but still symbolize our love and commitment to each other. I still love my wife as much as the day I changed her name.
Go to Jimmy Roselli's Official Fansite on facebook. Search "Jimmy Roselli" and join his page. Jimmy actually checks the page often and interacts with his gracious fans. Come check it out!
This song will always remind me of my step grandfather who I always called Mr. Bill. He loved this song and would often play it from time time in the car. I also remember him dancing in the kitchen to it one afternoon. I will never forget him, he was more a grandfather than a step. I love him, and will always miss him.
This was my parents' wedding second when they renewed their vows. Beautiful. They are married 50 years this November. They will dance the first dance to it again.
@daveybeno if your trying to get "so lucky in my life" by jimmy roselli ask the username bigjoemig2003. he personally accepts peoples requests. mine too. he migt have the song
@MrDJTUBZ He's talking about a different song, "So Lucky In My Life". Info. on chart stats on this recording of "When Your Old Wedding Ring Was New" can be found in the description I wrote under the video.
@rowlington There is a Book out about Jimmy Roselli, I believe the name of the book is "Making the Wise Guys Weep, The Jimmy Roselli Story. it explains, in His Own words why he was blackballed (his music wasnt played) during the sixties. Jimmy Roselli was one of my Dads Favorite Singers, Sinatra was his Favorite, and I am so glad that I listened to this type of music all through my Life
what a fantastic song and singer, imagine walking into a bar and seeing him on stage, what a wonderful evening you would have. Bring back the old days anytime!!
Absolute beauty! This song should have made him a house hold name!!!! One of the best and never got the credit he should have. You can still walk through Little Italy in the summer in NY and hear his voice coming from radios and cd players. He puts Sinatra to shame! And Sinatra knew it...that's why he didn't like him!
@wedge173 meant to vote yes or up on your comment but I sneezed and the mouse went to the wrong spot - I agree it was the good old day sof big bands and the singers of the 40s and 50s that were 'real' music and 'real' singers!
I've heard several others sing this one well, but this is Jimmy's song. There is a station in my area that features mostly rock n roll oldies, but frequently notes that this is still their most requested recording.

Until my brothers' death a few months ago I had never heard of this singer, but
my brothers' wish was this song to be song at his funeral service. Under the
circumstances it was such a perfect request and most moving. I have since
searched for more recordings from Jimmy Roselli and I must admit he is
quite a performer. I wonder why I was unaware of him before? Was he
never on tour in the UK in his early career?
