I was a projectionist at a General Cinema Corp cinema when this movie first came out, this scene was in it.. Then I saw it on cable and the scene was missing, it confused me, I was wondering how I could have missed it.
@reddog8800 You didn't. Fox forced Cameron to cut the sentry gun scenes out in order to get the running time under two and a half hours. They were restored when it made its broadcast television debut on CBS in 1989.
@4fan91 A 2 hour movie can be shown 5 times a day. Over two hours can only be shown 4 times in a business day for a theater. So shorter movies are "Better" from their point of view. Most movies get edited down to 2 hours, even if it means cutting critical plot--see what they did with Highlander.

I wish they had a good light in the corridor so we could have seen the aliens better.

The cut out scene, the most intense and interesting in a film. Super! It was pleasant to me!!!

I know I have special edition but why they cut this and other, according me, important scenes?
4fan91 2 years ago
@4fan91 Cause back then the standard was to make a movie last 90 mins.
Dunnea why but fuck it money makes folks do crazy stuff.

Pity about the quality of the video. But heck, it is a tense moment and it shouldn't have been cut IMO. ;)
