Also, that happend on my ps2 slim only which could almost not even load the beginning intro cd for ff8. You really need to try like 1000 times before you got lucky enough to skip it!! damnn good times. I still have my ff8 though =D

I had the same problem when he went on the mission with the boat. Ad the part where you see like 5 or six boats and the moon in the water. It froze but the music kept playing. (Ps3)

Lucky i had my ps1 and downloaded the psp version a few weeks later. This game cry's for a epic remake. I would do it if i could and have the money, even if it mean aquare enix or squaresoft is gonna bitch about it.

How cool would be a online multiplayer were you can join a team and fight

It's not just the PC version.

The PSX version does it too. I've had this glitch but on a much larger scale. The graphics went absolutely INSANE on me during battles, walking around, magic sequences. It's an issue with some of the programming, it happens every so often but it can also happen if a glitch is accidentally exploited.

It's a simple reaction to the graphics being overloaded :S I used to use an XPlorer cartridge to hack this game (after I completed it a few times) and basically if you use either magic or GF's, there is a chance that the programmed area that deals with graphics can overload and cause illogical texturing. Also, every time I used the switch on the Xplorer (for the PS1) this would occur due to the game being frozen for a short period of time :| Even though the game freezes, the disc doesn't.

VIII never worked properly on the PS2 for me, I encountered this and other glitches numerous times. Some of them made the game nearly un-playable.

This happened to me... just once though. I don't think it's magic that triggers it. It's definately a command that isn't attack. I got it just by drawing magic. Pretty much a lot of stuff went green. It scared me so much as it wasn't even -my- game.. anyway I think it's some sort of manouverable command like magic and draw as something randomly appears probably triggering it.. it was against a ruby dragon.. I thought it would also have something to with the Island closest to hell...but maybe not

This happens to me too, all the time... I have the regular, new-ish PS2, and around the 3rd disk random battles will go funny-colored on me. X.X The fight between Laguna & the Ruby Dragon is usually what starts it, and it's heck trying to see what I'm doing with all the goofy colors everywhere.

I think this glitch only happens on PS2. You can only wonder what it does on a PS3. lol

lol. don't mean to burst ure bubble, FrosChannel, but i heard a PS3 can't play PS2 games let alone PS1 cames.

The old 20 and 60 gig could almost play all PS1 and PS2 which are not sold in stores anymore. 80 gig was limited compared to the 20 and 60 gig, and 40 gig was only able to play PS1 games and not PS2.

i remember getting a glitch against diablos on my old ps2, the menu commands disappeared into some multi-coloured mess and I had to guess what commands i was using! is it something to do with the fast load/smooth graphics option at the ps2 config?

somthing similar happened to me last night... well two nights ago, i kept summoning a gf, then it got mest up, just not that mest up, it went on even after battles, so i saved, turned of my ps2(the mini one) and turninfed it back on, and it was gone

Unfortunately, I've had the same problem on my game. It happened in the training center right at the beginning of the game, the window skin on the main menu funkied up too. Guess the game is just getting old.. Maybe.

I had that happen before too XD except it was mostly yellow instead of brown that you have I also had selphie in my party and it was for the American version and it happend at the radio tower where you fight the monster thats just like that one the whole game stayed like that until I restarted it XP and it always happend randomly

I always get something different when it happens. part of the skins drop out completely and the text boxes become super bright and illegible. Not only that but it stays afterwards so I have to reset the game.
