But Bill Gates grew up working out of his mom's garage. He was dirt poor when he started out, and he worked his way all the way up the socioeconomic ladder. He had a good idea; he made money off of it. GET OVER IT.

Might want to do your homework on him... his wikipedia bio "His family was wealthy; his father was a prominent lawyer, his mother served on the board of directors for First Interstate Bank" kid went to private schools all his life. But I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your sentiments.. hell I'm a business major, the truth is we're all trying to fight for our slice of the pie and a capitalist society allows that.
He was never poor, didn't start out in a garage and didn't make his money in a fair way. I suggest you read about Microsoft's dealings through the late 70's and into the 80's to see how he really made his money. The only "good idea's" he had where backstabbing friends and taking advantage of other peoples stupidity. He had some vision, but it only came through with luck and questionable tactics.
Gates is just stating the obvious. There are no pearls of wisdom here. What I don't understand is why he acts as if the world cares about what Microsoft is doing? They haven't had an original idea since the "Start button" on Windows. And why does he keep taking cheap shots at Google & Apple when both companies are doing something genuine and innovative. Hearing him talk trash is just the beginning of the end of Microsoft world domination.
