  • Hold My hand ,sooooooooooo good hootie !

  • "thy" is biblical language. this song is good, but not saying "thy"....but still enjoyed watching the video!!...:)

  • Hootiecam, you're being a fool. It's "hold MY hand." Cool your jets and take it down a notch. But still thanks much for uploading this!

  • For a moment I thougt it was Tiger Woods singing.

  • the MORON that posted this originally, its Hold MY hand. Asshole. this is my friends band so it pisses me off

  • @kelleymissalrocks I AM THE ONE WHO RUNS THIS SITE AND IT"S THY !!!!! get a hanky and clean out yer nose !! If you know why it's THY they it would be YOURS !!!!!

  • hold thy hand materrr hahaha so medieval

  • soulful performance, live, raw, powerful - inspirational

  • @PippinPotter11 every year they play together at a charity celebrity pro-am golf tournament. It was just this past weekend and i saw Hootie play live along with sister hazel, edwin mccain, etc. They are still great friends and they do play on occasion.

  • Hootie And The Blowfish are no longer together. They were a band from the 80s & 90s era, Recording Several Top Ten Hits. 'Hootie' the lead singer now goes by his real name; 'Darius Rucker'. He successfully crossed over to Country Music and doing very well I might add. He's been welcome with open arms since moving here to Nashville where I also live. He's had a #1 Country song and a few Top Ten's as well. He'll always be known & loved as being 'Hootie' around the world! ~toodles,Carol

  • Thumbs up for the dumb ass with the BAD ATTITUDE and poor grammar/spelling skills.

  • He really does look uncannily like Tiger Woods in this one lol. I really like the orchestral sound of this performance

  • i miss the 90's.. good times...

  • was this at usc?

  • i always thought hootie and the blowfish were a jazz/soul band (cos of the name) i've genuinely never heard them until today, which is weird cos i grew up in the 90s & i love music from that period

  • where did the 90s go nothing like this anymore

  • Awesome song!! Everyone is having so much fun. Just check out the woman in the back with the violin. Check out her smile. Is she enjoying this!!!

  • Please post the year this was performed so I get an idea

  • i love hootie.... awesome music.......

  • i always thought of these guys as one hit wonders, with "only wanna be with you" but after hearing this album i real, mized how much good music they have, reallly well put together songs, with good catchy, metophorical lyrics, what kind of music is this? blues, or soft rock i guess ehh?

  • saw them play live in ATL years ago. was awesome :D

  • A lot of their songs are similar, still good.

  • agreed, love them.

  • I really liked this song.

  • This is a Slow Version.

  • perfect song honey:)

  • All of Hootie and the blowfish's songs sound the same.

  • finallyanunusedname2 no they don't you only think that pecause darius has such a distinct voice

  • all your songs sound the same. lol fuk u mate

  • @finallyanunusedname2 don't you just love it when you comment on a song and a year later someone replies and you're like WTF are you talking about? Well here it is my reply is... na uhhhh

  • Just gotta love Hootie!!!!

  • my absolute favourite version of any of there songs, i got chills the first time i heard it

  • l just LOVE YOU GUYS & you make me so proud to be a Carolina alumini

  • Oh gosh this song is simply perfect. I saw this show back in 1995 on MTV and had it recorded to a VHS... too bad the tape ended up being lost along the way... Truly sad indeed. Mr Hootiecan, wouldn't you have the entire show available? I'd simply love to have it again. Thank you for the posting and for sharing.

  • @LMDUS8 Everything you said is true except I think you might be confusing him with Cuba Gooding Jr. who was in Jerry Maguire. Regardless, he's still a versatile performer.

  • Why can this song only be found live on this site, also I didn't know Darius Rucker plays golf.

  • rockin' strong!

  • Yeah i aslo had this on video, recorded off MTV and would love to dig that out, Darius your a legend would someone please tell Hootie to come back to England so i can see them again!!!!

  • I once had this entire concert on vhs i would give alot to have it again. Can some one tell how i can obtain this one. I cannot remember what tv station i watched it on maybe pbs any info would be nice. Thanks

  • what was the name of the place?

  • This was an MTV concert they did on the Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina (the band's alma mater) in Columbia, SC. 1995, I think. Might've been an "MTV Unplugged" but I'm not sure.

  • Best song in the world

  • they are very talented

  • thy?????? wtf????? no wonder why this is so difficult to find.

  • @cameronnoremac1 HAHA !!!!! Shows you why your not a true fan !!! DIG IN to find it !!!!

  • anyone know where this was? discription says campus, but what college?

  • USC!!!! GO 'COCKS!!!!

  • dont cuss at me im only 11 god!!!!!!!

  • It's what I want it to be so shut the hell up !! OR the copyright police with take it down !!!!!!!!!

  • I was at this concert back in '95. It was awesome!

  • Fantastic! Amazing! Still in my top5 favorite groups after all this years!!

  • An Unplugged concert packed to see Hootie!? Hold My Hand!? This has to be '95? And now Darious is a country artist. I feel bad for all the Hootie backlash they received. It was not worth it. It was very hard to top "Cracked Rear View" but their other albums do not take away from that album and there ability to make great, soulful, entertaining songs.

  • Love Hottie and Blowfish..forever

  • a little shaky till the percussion comes in huh? then i was feelin it, but wheres the jug and the saw? soooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Darius Rucker is Great! im use to hearin him in country music though cause i never listened to hootie and the blowfish

  • hey I have an idea we can all sing it together!

  • The music that I wish I could play

  • f*ing amazeing!1

  • is that Glen Phillips at 0:26 ?

  • The credits at 4:26 should verify this for you. :-)

  • He is Darius Rucker...not Walker

  • He is now performing country music just as Darius walker. the song is "don't thing I don't thing about it." it is an awesome song.

  • can anyone please post so strange from this concert, please, or sad caper

  • my mom used to play these when i was younger and i loved them as much as i still do now. i love it when she's plays them on the guitar.

  • I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove this song!!! Para quem não sabe, essa canção fez parte da novela das 6, "História de Amor", de Manoel Carlos, a melhor dele até hoje!!!

  • Where was this played?

  • my guess would be in columbia at univerisity of south carolina since hes sings the alma mater and the info says live at the campus

  • the campus of south carolina.. i think it was 96'

  • This was on the campus at South Carolina. A CD was recorded and released based on this concert. It was called Fast Times In Hootieville. I believe that it was an import CD and I can't seem to find it for sale anymore. I wish it was on DVD. Great, great concert.

  • was this ever released?

  • yes.

  • absolutely great!! unfortunately they don't come here in italy...i can only watch them here...:((

  • they are amazing

  • The lady singing at Darius' right is pretty.

  • her name is nanci griffith

  • i can't believe that Darius(lead singer) went to country music. Its awesome.

  • such an awsome venue. being there must have been magical! they are an amazing band

  • sick vid, thanks man.

  • you are all lucky, those who were at this concert.

  • Jesus... I was at this show! Brings back memories of watching these guys a block off the capital building that still flew the Confederate flag back then in 5 points!

  • hold thy hand lol

  • We lived in Tennessee at the time this was done, and boy, did it make me homesick!! Go Gamecocks! Go Hootie!

  • Awesome! I was there!

  • nice man..

  • Its called hold my hand not "thy"

  • yeah!! and he's gonna lurv you the best that, the best that thy can!!!

  • @tngmic72

  • oh my god...this is freaking unbelievable...its amazing to see Glen Phillips, Nanci Griffith, Lili Hayden, and Brantly Smith (original Hootie drummer) playing on the same stage with D, Mark, Dean, Soni, Gary, and Peter. This is a treasure, thanks for this!

  • Why was Hootie Unplugged never released on DVD? I've heard a bootleg recording & and it was an awesome show.

  • iwould've liked to see that show.

  • I have the Unplugged version on CD. Email me through youtube w/ your contact info and I'll see what I can do about sending it to you.
