  • You guys are giving AWFUL advice that falls into the SPOT REDUCTION MYTH. Focusing on your abs when working out is not going to flatten them out by burning the fat. Muscle and fat are two entirely separate things. The only way you're going to flatten out your ab's is through a really clean diet and continue exercising..

  • @xJanaRoxDaWorldx The trick is too cut your calories way back. Eat whatever you wan but cu your calories down to between 1000 to 1500 cals per day. Drink water like it's going out of style. No one ever drinks enough water. Do not drink pop, juice, die soda-anything except water and ff milk if you must. I even cut my ff milk in half with water and I also buy my water. Ppl will tell you to lose weight you have to eat and this is true. Eat something small every 2-3 hours.

  • girls who exercise without a hair tie look dumb 1) you get sweaty tatts in your hair, and sometimes with it into your mouth 2) you can get you hair stuck in the equipment, and end up ripping it out 3) you end up shedding on the equipment, and that's just *ucking gross!!! 4) you look like you're more committed to looking pretty than doing the correct sweaty exercises that make you like a sweaty heaping pile of nasty which is the purpose of exercising.

  • that looks dangerous, u can easily do the same exercise laying flat on the floor with yur hands underneath yur bottom and bring yur legs together, then raise them to a 45 degree angle up and down at least 20 times a day...ha!

    but that strains your back. The purpose of the ball is to be able to focus on specific area without doing damage.

    its building the muscle...matter of fact with straight legs that is working the hip flexors mainly. bring the knees to chest and you might actually hit the abs

    seeing a lot of "fitness professionals" out thereon this site who don't know wtf they are talking about and are giving horrible advice

    you need to create a negative caloric balance to "flatten your stomach" or "lose your love handles" by losing bodyfat

  • @HELLO2YOU3 : this is true but the ball causes more of the muscle to be engaged to keep stable. I would def say this is an advanced move on a ball. This move is also known as "The Pike" Happy strong abs :)

    LOL me too . the bench was free floating, the ball flew out from under me as I rolled off!!! I had to laugh at myself extra hard as to kill any type of pointing and laughing from other people... next time , i m doing this first in my routine , not at the end when i'm tired and way less... stable

  • this won't make abs like others said, but it will give you the motivation to do cardio (fat burning exercises) simply because this strengthens/builds those lower ABs, after you lose all your fat, instant Abs!

  • This wont flatten a pot belly... you cant target fat loss, all you're doing while doing this is making more muscle under a layer of fat. Cardio is the way to go for fat loss. run, use an elliptical, ride a bike, whatever you want, but those are the real ways to burn fat. this is just a good lower ab exercise

  • For the people that are bashing the ball. The ball create an unstable environment forcing your body to use more internal muscles that you cannot see to stablize your body. In return you get a better workout, burn more calories and a stronger core. The core is more than just your abs. It is abs, internal and external oblique,lower back, psoas major and minor,transverse abs,quadratus lumborum and there might be some other muscles I can not remember.

  • Workouts on the ground are alot tougher on your body (not in a good way) then on a nice ball that curves your back. I know when I did this on the ground I didnt do as many due to the pain from the floor. The ball helped me keep going. I recommend trying it!!

  • its not that you need a ball... I use the ball for a variety of workouts, that you would probably think you don't need them.. but the ball requires more balance and helps keep good form, you don't need it, just helps core stay tense. but w/e..

  • wow, thanks, nice to see some excersies I didn't know about before, like the ones with the bench, although take heed what she says, bench needs to be sturdy, or you'll end up pulling it all over the place, I tried it and well, the result was somewhat comical, luckily I didn't hurt myself, and I now use the edge of the coach in order to have a heavy enough "bench" behind me :)

  • Actually, doing this exercise on the ball is better for your back because of the support the ball offers.

  • You get practically the same effect by just lying on the ground and pulling JUST your legs up, you should feel it hurting (or working, depending on how you look at it) in your belly within seconds. People can barely hold it for a minute.

  • How can we get a body like Halle Berry? She has a 25 minutes circuit routine, 5 times a week. I have been to the gyms, but even some fitness trainers look really fit but they don't have Hally Berry's body??

  • You can just use the floor but the ball is good because you have to squeeze your muscles inward, which keeps the muscles from building out and making your stomach look bigger

  • Good video, but as others have said, this will build up your Abdominal muscles, and tone your stomach. But if you need to lose alot of weight, then you need to combine these workouts with cardio, running, swimming, cycleing ect.

    I do these kind of exercises, with alot of weightlifting and then finish the session with a 40 minute run. And that works a treat for me!

  • Okay I have a problem. I have been working out for about a year and a half I lost a lot of weight, but I still have a lot of fat to lose on my body. I do a lot of cardio workout but I just can't seem to get rid of the fat around the oblique areas and the pouch on my stomach and I workout 4 times a week full cardio with some weight training how do you think I could get rid of the fat?

  • No fitness expert, but was watching something on nbc or abc about a woman in your same predicament. This lady was a runner but couldn't get rid of her belly fat. She didn't realize, but she had to much fat in her diet. So she went on low-fat diet and continued her exercise of course. And a couple of weeks later, you could start seeing the definition.

  • wear sneaker/tennis shoes/cross trainers ...use mat or rug...and most importantly try to always focus on one spot while doing any particular exercise...this should help your balance when trying to stay on the ball...good video for shaping and sculpting

  • There are different balls made for certain weights. Check the outside of the packaging for the specific weight range that the ball is made for.

  • To answer your question, No. The ball has ridges on them to prevent that. Just make sure the area around you isnt wet
