This however is untrue. Most tourists in Korea come from neighbouring Asian countries, notably Japan and China. Koreans love to think westerners (who by the way, are not all white) make up the majority but they don't. Check out the tourism in Korea article on wikipedia.

koreans already know this... they absolutely do not think that westerners constitute even remotely a substantial percentage of the tourism.

i don't think they feel the need to. in case you haven't noticed, the East is rising while the West with the exception of certain smaller European countries have stagnated. Just look at the technology, the U.S. is by the West Wing's own admission 15 years behind.

Okay, here are several example.

Firstly, food is different.

Chinese usually eat oily food.

I've been China twice, and I had hard time to eat food :P

But Korean food is totally different.

We like spicy, salty, and something like strong taste foods.

Secondly, Language is kind of similar but different.

Korea has own language; however still we are using Chinese letters for better understand. Buy WE ARE NOT USING CHINESE (just their letters).

Japan didn't give Chinese hanzi name to Korea.

学问[ xuéwen]. You can read it right? You guys read this letters as 'xuéwen' But we read 'Hakmoon'

We called 'learning' as 'Hakmoon' but we didn't have letter for WRITING. So we wrote as 学问. But we read it as 'Hakmoon'

After we developed Korean, we are writing as 학문. There is no such thing from Chinese on Korean letter.

hey Korea's place names was Korean just before Japan changed them into Chinese Characters. I am sure you know Japanese use Chinese Character.

I won't deny that China was stronger than Korea. China was bigger (of course so is now) and the only way Korean could get the foreign culture from the continent. so government officials had to speak Chinese.

But you don't know anything about Korean Language. Korean has had own language, but there was no original Characters.
