It does trouble me though, that people find this shit so comical, like some kinda TV sitcom.

I wasn't referring to people finding the mask funny, I was referring to the way people laugh off all the insanely stupid shit she says, all the tin foil hat conspiracy theories she spouts at her rallies, etc.

Halloween masks go for caricature. It's easier to recognize a caricature of a face than the face itself (scientific research backs this up), and even if a mask fits poorly, the exaggerated features leave the false face recognizable. Sure, it's be great to be able to put on a mask and look like the real Sarah (or whoever), but that's not practical in real life.
Ya know, I think folks forget that this is a Halloween mask! It is hilarious. It's not supposed to be complimentary. I bought one and got it the other day and have gotten more laughs than I ever got with my Reagan, Clinton (both), or Osama bin Laden masks!! If you can do the voice, even funnier!
