@VideoGirl6521 See my previous comment, India has a problem with stray dogs and aggressive crows. The dogs will dig up the eggs, the crows will take what's left. Once the turtles were near the sea nature took over and you can see the crabs circling in for the kill. Another problem is that the city lights distract the turtles so they actually start heading away from the sea.
It looks like different locales have different ideas about what's best for the turtles. In North Carolina the volunteers handle the turtles only in extreme cases to avoid interfering with their imprinting on that beach.
Given the choice between the eggs being eaten by predators and moving them for safety- handling them is for the best, though the expression, "...the way nature intended" doesn't work for me.
@BradiKal61 One of the problems with this turtle beach is that it is not secluded, it's actually part of the city and you'll find thousands of people walking on the beach every day, dropping litter which attracts scavengers and all the stray dogs. The "way nature intended" is obviously meant to be sarcasm!
@CPentertainment100 When the turtle lays the eggs they are transferred to a secured area so that stray dogs and other animals don't disturb them. When the eggs hatch the turtles have to be transported by hand to the sea otherwise the stray animals will eat them. We were being observed by a helper so it's not like we dug up the eggs and disturbed anything!
You're really stupid
