This is not true. It was posted on a site as a joke. Ray was fired due to low ratings. After the death of Mark Goodson, his son Jonathan, decided to bring Richard Dawson back.

No need to belittle Ray's death. Ray died due to his illness. He wasn't of sound mind, there fore he made a decision that he would have never made had he been of sound mind.
