I was always under the impression that Islamic Dietary law mirrored Jewish Dietary law in respect to the slaughter having to take place under sanitary conditions with no the animal having to be washed before slaughter to remove all dirt or other blemishes to make sure the animal has no defects or blemishes in order to ensure that all is Kosher or Halal. If I'm wrong, please I would like Muslim or religious Jew to tell me.

Only the meat is washed with water before we cook eat it.

Not the whole animal, the skin of animal is removed after slaughter so there is no use of washing animal before slaughtering... after the slaughter and removal of the skin, the animal body is washed with water.
