I'm addicted to this beat, love it! I can't figure out how you're doing it at all though. I got the smiling down, but there's so many things you're doing. Anyway, enjoy the hell out of it, love your energy too, keep on smiling, and thanks for posting this!
I haven't just started playing but have I have just begun to learn to play. I know after doing research that the only way to become a master djembe player is to learn from a master. That is when I decided to find one and came across your videos. I wanted to show my progress and decided to create my own website to do just that.
Lamin, you are an amazing man... very happy and humble. The world can learn a lot from you. I would love to meet you. I just started playing the djembe, and am not good at all yet, but I look forward to getting better. I love watching you and listening to your music. In your words, "You can't play drum and be angry... just smile... and happy!"
Lamin, a big thanks, though I play it slowly, but your words stay in my mind when i am playing it. Practise - don't give up - be happy, bring the joy to people around...tks again!
big respect Lamin, the people like you help peoples who is lost and can t find themselfs to feel happyness of usual think for exambel drum playing..it is simple and brings so much joy and you start feeling good :)
Thank you my brother! You are quite a uniquely talented man. And for what it's worth, one day we will all sit down in one place, and we will all be together again. So let it be written, so let it be done.
thx so much for the new lesson. but i found that i still cannot get the big difference bettwen the tone and the slap sound like you can on my remo djembe 12". i cant figure if it is me or the drum.
i have been playing drums for close to 40 years. I wanted to expand my playing with djembe and i found you on the internet. You have a wonderfully melodic musical flow to your playing that feels so good to me. effortlessly playing these wonderful rhythyms. congrats and look forward to learning from you
Though I haven't been brave enough to get a djembe myself (partly for fear of lacking skill and partly because of consideration of my neighbours) I absolutely love to listen to your music. Don't stop sharing, please!
