  • LOL, Edmund is such a brat XD

  • next time remember...... lamp post wood hills my house!

  • @TheFirstClassedFreak huh! where's your house? not getting it on my car navigation system haha.

  • @TheFirstClassedFreak I might program that into my GPS - then I can pay the Witch a little visit with 20lb of gunpowder and some dynamite.

  • I love Lucy's outbursts.

  • lucy seems to love running out of rooms

  • I love the professor in this version. Jim Broadbent played the professor in the new version. I really like that actor but they made the professor so funny looking. The professor in this version is so much more believable

  • 3:11

"Well, you know fauns...They'll say anything...Can't believe what they say....Everybody knows that."

This coming from a guy who didn't know fauns existed until 5 minutes ago.

  • @Anathar88 Ah but he learnt that from the Witch in the tent I think :) But it shoudl be common knowlege aswell you know! lol

  • @williamwills That's another flaw of Edmund's: he meets a total stranger, in another world, and believes everything she says.

    Kids.....what can ya do?

  • @Anathar88 It's simple enough, he is greedy. She gives him Turkish delight, ergo she must be good.

  • I like the Professor in this version. I hope that when I grow old, I'm as much fun.

  • This is the only adaptation worth watching. The new movies have the budget and the technology, but without the special effects, they're just a crappy version of this BBC version. Special effects are supposed to be supportive of what should be a solid production on its own. This BBC series doesn't have the money, but it more than makes up for it in narrative, production and acting.

  • @RowanBerry100 haha :D

  • the professor is my favourite character in this adaption

  • I love this. It's a huge part of my childhood. :) Watching this is kinda like suddenly remembering a wonderful dream I had a long, long time ago.

  • The Professor is Digory, right? So he's been in Narnia before, right? It all makes so much more sense now that I've read the Magician's Nephew. Why didn't he tell them that he was there when Narnia was created? I wish he would have gone back to Narnia and helped find Aslan and defeat Jadis.

  • @meadowfrance

I'd like to know why Aslan waited 1000 years to kill the Witch... She was near powerless when she got there, she had no army, no castle, she literally had nothing....Then he allowed his people to suffer when she took over Narnia for 100 year Winter... It wasn't like the Children beat the Witch... nor could they...I'd like to hear him explain that

  • @XxComablackxX1937 Well, its like the conflict between God and Satan: Why didn't God just erase Satan from existence rather than cast him out of heaven? Nobody really knows.

  • @Anathar8 Because without the freedom to choose evil there is no freewill. Being good because you can't be anything else would be valueless.

  • I love the Professer xDD

  • I still can't get over the fact that Edmund is ginger.

  • @friendofidiocy I know. It ruins the movie

  • NOOOOOOO, no next timeee

  • Okay, I'll admit it...I still have a crush on Peter :3

  • the performance of children is very bad. Although I did not see the full version, children look something dumb and unable to fight in a war.

    I prefer the new version.

  • I wish some of you would stop saying nasty things about the cast. This BBC series was one of the best porttrayals of a collection of books I've ever seen on tv. I loved it ;) Was on once a week during the weeks leading up to christmas. Magical memmories for me that I would like to hold on too. Thanks for posting these Heather :D xx

  • "That is more than I know"

Oh my God so funny if you know how he fits in the chronicles

  • i don't mind the kids playing peter and susan. they're pretty good.

  • "cant I have just one more piece of turkish delight to eat on my way home?

    "NNNNNOOOOO!"

    NEXT TIME NEEEXXT TIMMMEE!!

  • "Can't I have just one piece of Turkish Delight to eat on the way home?"

    "NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."

    Smooth.

    :l

  • Barbara Kellerman's Witch makes me think of an evil version of Mary Poppins.

  • Edmun: "Can't I have 1 more turkish delight?"

Witch: "Ok, you know what, you must be the stupidest kid I've ever seen, I'm gonna kill you now, so the prophecy won't become real. God, I wonder why I haven't thought of this before...

*The white witch cuts off Edmun's head, Lucy, Peter and Susan live happy for once in his lifes, end of the movie* :P

  • fat and ugly?

    watch?v=7rzvyCVdTbo

  • ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ROOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUULLLLLLLLCCCCAAAAKKKKKEEEEEESSSSS

  • Getting bribed with Turkish delight... Things were different back in the 40's..

  • The acting, effects, and storyline make the 2005 film remake look like utter crap.

  • @JamesGod08

OH MY GOSH!! I thought I was the only one who knew that!!!!

  • The sound effects are really captivating

  • These characters are just WRONG. : X

  • I actually like Sophie Wilcox as Lucy better than Georgie. Her portrayal is more faithful to the novel and in my opinion is cuter. SO STOP CALLING SOPHIE FAT AND UGLY! SHE IS MORE ADORABLE THAN ALL OF YOU WILL EVER BE!!!!!

  • "Can't I have one more Turkish delight?"

    "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO^#($@&$(*#@$%#&OOOOOOO."

  • Skandar Keynes is a much better Edmund in my case. To me, he IS Edmund. William, Anna and Georgia are also much better at being Peter, Susan and Lucy those these actors are okay. I don't really see them as the characters though.

However I like the witch in this one much more. She reminds me more of the White Witch from the books.

  • Edmond is a right little sod

  • The Magician's nephew was never adapted for TV or film but the professor did appear in the story aged about 12

  • @MidlandNinja Perhaps they will do it this time. I'd like to see that one done for film. The scene of Jadis (the White Witch) riding on top of a horse and carriage cab would be marvelous. I suspect they'll never to the Last Battle (too sad) but it would be nice to see that one. :)

  • Why does the dwarf eavesdrop? I should think he'd hear the witch quite well just from the sleigh. Ahahaha

  • If Lucy had been a bit older she would definitely have suspected Edmund had met the witch when he asked what she looked like and started saying that the others would be on the sides of the dryads and nyads.

  • LMAO at 1:08

  • is this the movie back then?

  • Edmund's such brat, upsetting poor little Lucy like that, shame on him.

  • I LOVE these. I most especially enjoy Sophie Wilcox as Lucy. Thanks for posting. :D

  • I just love these. And I LOVE all the actors, most especially Sophie Wilcox as Lucy. Those Brits know how to act. :)

  • Why can't the White Bitch can't go to the wardrobe herself?

  • @DaddyWalrusguy Lol the white bitch, that's funny.

  • All those characters are just so snobby and annoying sometimes.

"Perfectly Beastly!" WTF is that? Also at 6:19 you can see she's about to laugh. :P

  • @Superplex1001 That's how they spoke at that time this story is set. At least people from good families.

  • 9:31-9:36 does anyone else notice something on the left of the screen in the background?

  • @GingerSnapp89 It's the professor's head when he is leaning down to take notes.

  • fauns will say anything you know..

  • This White witch is creepy, but if you combined her with the new white witch, it would make a very interesting villian for Narnia!

  • Can I just say, that I like this Jadis SOOO much better than the recent one?

  • jadis is cool.

  • this lucy's voice sounds like a mix between lucy in the walden media version and the lucy in the focus on the family radio theater version.

  • "Can't I have just one more piece of Turkish Delight to eat on my way home?"

"NOoOooooOOoOOOOOOOOOOOoooOOOooooooooOOooOOO!!!" My God, I think I've never laughed so hard in all my life.

  • me neither :) that part is stinking hilarious

  • @henry01090905

It IS hilarious!!!!! I know how she felt! hahaha

  • @dothedeedee i can't believe i have this on video! :)

  • yes well the proffessor has been in narnia in the magicaians nepphew

  • "Can I have some more candy, please?"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! - I mean, no ,dear one."

  • this was made 20 years ago why are people comparing it with the film. It was a tv series. Please this was a cult classic, and my child hood.

  • @chef82 I agree with you, i haven't actually seen the film, but this will always have special place in my heart.

  • While I personally don't care much for this version of the movie (I like the disney one best), I have to admit I enjoy the scene where they are talking to the professor. Maybe because it's so much like the book.

  • The white witch in this one seriously needs acting lessons. She yells her lines at the worst imaginable moments. Disney's white witch may have had blonde dreadlocks, but at least she had talent.

"NOOOOOOO!" I mean, seriously what the heck IS that?

  • Wait, they do teach logic at our school..

  • My gosh, they're young!

  • Lucy is a chipmunk.

  • God, she sounds like an Ogre when she says "NOOO!!!" at 1:08 - you can see edmunds reaction as he staggers back.

  • I love the scene when Susan finds Peter... and I don't know why.

  • I think this version kicks the new versions arse!

  • So True

  • Not a chance!

  • Velociped, I'm afraid I strongly disagree with you (I personally like the new movies better), but hey, to each their own, right?

  • @velociped no it doesn't!

  • I like the outfit "Susan" wears when she and Peter visit the Professor in his office at 6:50 and thereafter. I wish that was what she wore while visiting Narnia. Not that "court jester" collared thing she sports throughout that part of the flick. Perhaps those kinds of collars were all the rage in London circa 1940?

Unlike the Disney version, the actors playing "Peter" and "Susan" look and sound like your typical thirteen and twelve-years-old boy and girl (respectively). Kudos to them!

  • My favourite of Susan's outfits was the red dress she was wearing in the scene when they were finishing tea and discussing their first night at Professor Kirke's house. It's the scene when they're discussing wood animals -

    "Hawks!"

    "Eagles!"

"Badgers! I'd love to see a badger."

"I wonder if there are stags?"

  • @beagle5pup

yea.. but atleast in the disney version u can tell which one's older and which one's younger, they all look the same age here :s and the book never described lucy as fat and ugly

  • @beagle5pup The Disney version don't sound like 12 and 13 year olds because they're not meant to be. Peter is around 16 or 17 and frankly, I like it. I can't stand the kids who play Peter and Susan in this film, they don't seem to be old enough to be the older siblings of Edmund and Lucy. They all look the same age.

  • @beagle5pup

You're right, but 13 and 12 year old of this generation are quite different from children back them. I see children wearing clothing these days that children shouldn't wear. I see little girls that dress like grown women and it makes me sick.

  • Teehee.

    "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

    "Next time. NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXT TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!"

  • urghh, whats wrong with you people! This was made back in the 80's so blatantly it will be to a different standard of the new one.

The new one is goodm but terribly rushed, it doesnt go into half as much detail as this one!

  • the witch seems insane...

  • i agree

  • ya give the kid candy. That will make them come

  • The new one is much much better. For example the actors..

  • @SSthemagicviolin YOU SAID IT! Finally, someone with a lick of sense comments!

  • "Mom, can I have a friend over after school?" "1:08"

  • o.o

    oh my gosh.

    i am scarred.

  • lucys a big whiner

  • The queen is hot.

  • cool, thanks

I could say it's for my kid second cousin - she's eight. lol

  • what the... Edmund seems to be older than Peter Oo straaaange...

  • I know what you mean, except, it seems like SUSAN is the older one and not Peter as originally intended.

Does anyone know if these actors did "the last battle" the oe where Peter, Lucy and Edmund die? I mean the actors that are in this one?

  • They are all a little bit... well... I think the newest films are the best.

And I just now that the actor of peter is Richard Dempsey and he was 14 in this movie. And he still work as an actor

  • i know what you mean about the new one, but to be honest, i didnt go a bundle on the new one - not having watched this.

What i meant to say was did the BBC make the "Last Battle? cos it WOULD have had these actors in it. Ive heard of it and read a few of the synopsis on the iternet. I would like to buy it but as a 26 year old i dunno if i DARE go into a bookshop and purchase anything from the children's section!!! so watching it is my only hope

  • lol, well ^^ Say it's for your niece? or got it from a online-shop^^

but you should watch the new films ;) even there won't be the next movies cause disney decided to stop the prodution *sad sigh*

    about the "Last battle" dunnooo

  • No the BBC didn't make The Last Battle. I tried looking for it but there isn't one. I dunno why, its seems strange that they made all of the others and not the last and possibly most important one.

  • that's exactly what i was thinkng.

Wish i could either hear it on audio or see it though

  • I'm actually happy they didn't make it. It was my least favourite. I hate when things just end.

  • They have made many battles and i know cause i have borrowed them from the library many times, i would have borrowed them again but it was closed so i have to wait until Monday.

  • Um, I I would like to point out that BBC did not make ALL of them except for the last battle. They didn't make the horse and his boy, or the magican's nephew either.

  • I'm 21 and I still buy childrens books. People just think I am buying it for a kid I know, if they think about it at all that is

  • good point

  • Oh they do much more then one battle, watch the full show and you will understand how much better this is then the new Movies.

  • LUCY IS FAT AND UGLY

  • And you're shallow and retarded!

  • @HeathenMaiden So true! I think Lucy's adorable, and I like the fact that the child actors aren't all little stars covered in make up.

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh I think this actor is PERFECT to play Lucy. She's got that Childlike innocence :)

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh

You forgot to mention her horses teeth. BTW The drawings in the books picture her being thin petite and with pig-tails.

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh if u hate someone shut ur mouth and sew it because no one likes getting their feelings hurt and to be perfectly frank with u, ur a racist person ,, get the picture,, i think lucy is pretty unlike u.

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh

Your mean and racist, meanie, no-one likes a racist meanie like you! >:(

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh At least she's in a famous tv programme unlike you!

  • @AbbyLaurenBoh was you mean

    watch?v=7rzvyCVdTbo

she is VERY FAR FROM FAT AND UGLY right now

  • do you think edmund being the bad sibling could be a king lear reference?

  • nooooo lol edmund is too stupid to pick up on the fact she wants to kill him i think the witch might have split personality disorder cause she's nice then mean. edmund is such an ass. not to mention shouting problems on the witch's part

  • "NOOOO!!!.... no..:)"

Hahahah, poor witch. Edmund is such a spoilt prick.

  • Edmund is a bully to Lu. He's just terrible!

  • of course there is his redemption... which is the purpose of C.S. Lewis creating Edmund....

  • the white witch in this one is better than the latest one

    she is amazing :o)

  • I think she´s terrible :) But that´s just me :)

  • @DiamantaBralova I think you're right

  • Personally, I find it hard to take her seriously sometimes. Especially in that last part, when she reacted to the dwarf pointing out that 'he was only one'.

  • WOW she has a bad temper than the one in the latest movie.

  • am loving watching this again, used to love this when I was a kid.

Whats with Edmund and the Witch though? She is BLATANTLY evil and wants to kill all of them, why can't Edmund pick up on that? LOLz

  • Yeah, the Witch in this version isn't very subtle is she lol!

  • I loooove professor Diggory....he's amazing!

  • Aslan is not the only one who can roar !!

  • this movie make me thank god for the improvement of special effects since when this was made:)

  • this susan acts a lot nicer than the susan in the disney movie

  • what's with the witch?

-can i have some more turkish delight, please?

    -NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I mean no....

    -NEXT TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!!

  • Hahahaha.

I think she MAY be slightly bipolar...

  • @bratwurstwiener i'll stop being comment crazy over alot of videos after what i have to say: in the very end of the last part, which of course is the same scene but a little or a lot of time backwards, anyway, edmund asked for turkish delight like four times and begging too, so here is the last time he asks and bcuz the witch is a nasty b**ch, then she would yell, and when i was in second grade, the school showed my class this movie and i was expecting her to be 1000 X meaner than that

  • She's a little on the loopy side.

  • @bratwurstwiener

she's just retarded, the witch from the new narnia movies is a uch better actress

  • @bratwurstwiener she's really on crack lol you made me laugh the comment

  • lol edmud is highest of them

  • "Oh, Logic! Why don't they teach logic at these schools?" the exasperated professor cries.

One of my favorite lines in the movie.

  • edmond is a little greedy ugly whit bastard lol

  • your language is much to be desired. Also an intelligent individual would not use profanity to get their point across.......

  • I love this show

  • Lucy is so sweet.

    Couldn't you just eat her?

  • I think she'd be pretty hard to swallow!

  • In personality or looks?

  • In personality or looks?

  • OMG not just for 1 person u cud feed the whole of africa with her!!

  • BA HAHAHAHAHA

  • I like how she basically screams NO when he asks for more Turkish Delight, she didn't even look at him or anything... I laughed so hard xD

  • me,too it was sooo funny, man

  • yeah edmund does look older than peter.

  • cool!thanks for sharing

  • Lucy looks like Mickie James.

  • i used to watch this when i was younger

  • as mentioned before peter looks younger than edmund.

  • 01:08 = Oh my! What was that?! I laughed so hard when I heard it! I like the "old" witch because of that scream! XD

  • I also like the Disney version...of course this was done at a different time, and follows the book more closely...I think the Disney version is well liked because of the CGI...I mean those things were not available at the time this was produced...so it was good for its time I suppose

  • iam not being mean so no like hate mail or anything like that, but i like the diseny verson better , a lot better

  • 1:12 HILARIOUS

  • You mean the big "NOOOO!!" at 1:08? Yeah, I can't stop laughing! XD

  • I was 13 when this came out.I saw it again a few laters,I have to say that white witch,it may just be me.BUT i THINK she's kinda hot

  • sorry jasmn i accidently spamed you. anyway it was funny when she jumped saying NOO!

  • hahahaha Lucy sure is a ugly looking kid

  • This ain't a nice thing to say. I don't really like what they did with her hair, but I think she's alright; she's just a normal kid, that's all. And she seems to be a good actress, which is what matters here.
