God decides that the Adam (who was neither male nor female) should not be alone. God's first choice for the Adam was animals. When God sees that none of the animals were a good mate, that's when the idea that another human would be the perfect mate. That Eve is a human seems more the deciding factor than the fact that she's a female.

The bible also speaks of eunuchs who cannot have kids and they are referenced positively for not being able to have kids. Abnormal does not exclusively mean wrong. Putting holes in ears for earrings is abnormal, but not wrong. Overpopulation would be a huge problem if everyone had kids.

@MrSandman005 - The Creation Story's point is not that a woman is made to be with a man, but that the perfect mate for a human is another human. God decides that the Adam (who was neither male nor female) should not be alone. God's first choice for the Adam was animals. When God sees that none of the animals were a good mate, that's when the idea that another human would be the perfect mate. That Eve is a human seems more the deciding factor than the fact that she's a female.

@celestialpathway - I also believe what makes sense to me. Not being able to have kids doesn't make it wrong. There are married couples who cannot have kids. Does that make them abnormal? The bible also speaks of eunuchs who cannot have kids and they are referenced positively for not being able to have kids. Abnormal does not exclusively mean wrong. Putting holes in ears for earrings is abnormal, but not wrong. Overpopulation would be a huge problem if everyone had kids.

well said-I previously recommended the YT debate with Dr.Michael Brown and Harry Knox. Dr. Brown does an outstanding,unassailable job of explicating and expounding the underlying judeo/christian ethical understanding of sexuality in God's view. Every one would do themselves a great favor listening to the deep wisdom of this man. The urgency of the Apostle Paul's warning in I Cor 6 "Not to be deceived..." (speaking to the brethren) makes sense because of those who call sin "love"

I mean really how a whole city be destroyed, with only one "righteous family" found and saved.. Then the daughters turn around and get there father drunk to have kids. Compassion yes....but it can never become a subsitute for the truth of GOD. Mercy and truth is what delivers us from our issues and strongholds no matter what they might be. We can never tolerate wickedness and call it having compassion. We tolerate what GOD tolerates and we don't tolerate what GOD does not. This was a really good discussion. I have never been a big fan of Pastor Bryant, but after watching his responses to Pastor Meredith and the way he handled himself and upheld the word of God I will say that I have gained a lot of respect for him. I also enjoyed Minister Burton.
