i can give the explanation of frontside(FS)and backside(BS). disregard everything you have heard about FS/BS. FS/BS was first designed and based off a boardslide and the way you would be sliding.. for instance say you skate regular and you roll up to a rail... you do a half of a 180 the direction of your heels... you land on the rail.. you are moving forward as well as facing the front of the direction or landing point... this is how they consider this direction of 180 a FRONTSIDE. opposite 4 BS

actually, all of you are wrong...that trick is a frontside 180 nollie hellflip (f/s 180 nollie heelflip)...fakie would be if he is skating switch stance, which in that case you would call it a half cab heelflip....in terms of flips, if your facing forwards half way thru the trip, its a frontside.. if your back is turned half way thru the flip, its a backside... for grinds, it will be determined based on the trick(thats where it gets complicated).
