The shape of a gun makes it rather easy to disarm if you know how, if you just try to pull it out of the hand then yeah it's not gonna work, but if you quickly use a disarming move like that it will pop right out. Although that's not the move I was trained to do in that situation

The thing you have to consider are (A) If someone is holding you witha gun to your head do they want something or are they eventually going to kill you? (B) by pulling the gun in this direction are and refering to (a) are you willing to point the gun at either innocent people or cops pointing their gun at your assailant?

I've seen a Krav Maga technique for this. You raise your arms like in a surrender position, then quickly turn and your arms will redirect the gun's line of fire. Then some wrist twisting goes on to disarm the assailant

It was in a shooting range. You ll receive some black powder and the gun will be jam so you ll need to recoil it. Look for videos and you ll see it does not do anything at all. Now you expect being already fired more than a hundred times then the barrel might be really hot and this might be a little problem

@IEnVyNoOne1 MMA is for sport, not self defense. It can be used as self defense, but it's nowhere near as effective as a martial art designed solely for real world situations. I teach Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Boxing, and BJJ. One of my Krav Maga students, who has only been in my class for a year, is only 5'5", and has taken down many of my MMA students who think MMA is more effective than Krav Maga in all of about 15 seconds.
