  • Just because raw vegan cured you from all your illnesses does not mean it is good. Keep in mind by going raw vegan you also eliminated processed foods, grains, soy, bad fats and diary. These foods are most likely to cause illness. You got from A to B by becoming raw vegan, but this does not mean there would not be another eating-style to achieve this.

I doubt you could survive a harsh winter in a cold climate being a raw vegan.

  • @MyTheraf Staying raw vegan can definitely be of a challenge during cold winters. But it's not impossible. Check out the video "How I've done Raw for 6 years in the Coldest City in the World".

  • @CdoGGx You had healthy cooked food which is better than a raw mono diet or lots of raw chocolate and nuts which is what many raw fooders live in. Eat what's right for you, the situation and what's available rather than get hung up on being a raw food vegan. I could cope with a vegan diet until I started doing outdoor voluntary work (conservation work, gardening and festival stewarding) and then I was craving eggs and fish which I needed to sustain me.

  • This 80:10:10 diet seems to be the raw vegan version of the high carbs no fat diet that was pushed back in the 1990's with the gourmet raw food diet the equivalent of the Atkins diet. Both are too extreme. I'd sooner follow the likes of Jason Vale, Gillian McKeith, Patrick Holford and Leslie Kenton who advocate a part cooked part raw diet with vegetarianism or veganism as an option.

  • Maybe the 80:10:10 diet is OK as a temporary detox in a warm climate or in the summer months in a cool climate such as northern Europe.

The most important thing is to eat more fresh vegetables and cutting down on wheat and dairy before thinking of going vegetarian, vegan or raw food and then maybe do this.

  • @lemsip see my 3 videos i did with dr alan goldhammer as he is in line with your thinking. best is to do hat works for you and each of us is different and we all live in different regions of the world.

  • @TheCoolVegetarian I live in a cool temperate climate and tried raw food on a raw food retreat during a hot summer once but couldn't keep it up for long when autumn came bringing rain with it. Even veganism is hard to keep up as I need eggs. Best to balance fat with carbohydrates rather than have a low fat high carb diet or high fat low carb diet.

  • @lemsip i did a video called " how i've done raw for 6th in the coldest city in the world" check it out... sounds like you know your body so do whats best for you. personally i avoid all animal products and have for 15+ years *

  • @lemsip Ive riden some of the harshest climates on earth and over 190 000km on my bicycle in the last decade as a vegan. I used to be so sick that I would have been dead if I didnt change my diet and lifestyle. Eating chickens periods is NEVER the solution lol!

  • I have a b12 deficiancy and i have been eating meat for all my life. But not any more :)

  • @Tallgirl83 no more meat or no more b-12 issues ?

  • @TheCoolVegetarian oh i mean i will never eat meat again. i become a raw vegan. I know eating meat isnt going to help b12. just wanted people to know that :)

  • i made a declaration for myself.. Im cutting out all the fat from my diet and my ultimate goals to be 100% raw vegan however long it takes 1-5 -10 years i will be 100% raw vegan

  • @theorganicfreak cool to hear that you will become a raw vegan. fyi it took me 15 years until i went 100% raw vegan from the time i became a vegetarian. first i was veggy for 9 years and then vegan for 6 then raw...

it is important to leave fat in your diet to a max of 10-15 % of your diet and make sure you get good healthy fats like : fruits, veggies, seeds, nuts etc... note that mosts fruits and veggies have up to 8 % fat in them so you really do not need a lot of fat after consuming them

  • @CdoGGx LOL. Totally normal and acceptable. There is no Raw food Police that will revoke your membership or kick you off the island. Also no one who matters is keeping score. Your hard work is still there and you can pick right up where you left off !! I think most important thing is to Enjoy the journey and to not be hard on ourselves when we choose to stray from our diets.

  • @CdoGGx raw sangha did an expose on it showings its harmful effects and dr gabrielle cousens recommends avoiding it.

  • @CdoGGx Braggs contain some nasty stuff in it, excito toxins I believe it was.. MSG and similar.. and should not be used at all.. they don`t even want to disclaim whats in it when asked.. so use regular soy sauce instead.. if it`s raw or not.. I have no idea.. soy sauce is just fermented I think...

  • @Mekelsior raw sangha did an expose on it showings its harmful effects and dr gabrielle cousens recommends avoiding it.

  • 1000mg. b-12? I hope it's 1000mcg.

    David, Orlando, FL

  • @davian3 I defer to DR on this one. Thanks for the comment and for watching !!

  • @slimfoxTV we updated the video with the correct math. thanks so much **

  • Thanks to the Raw Vegan diet, I found the natural human diet. Some call it the Paleo, Caveman, or Primal diet. I love a lot of the raw vegan foods, but eat very little of these high fructose fruits like bananas and dates. Its mostly a high (good) fat, moderate protein and low carb diet. The glycogen load of some of these fruits you eat a lot of is pretty high. Eating spoonfuls of sugar would probably be less harmful to the body. To recommend that type of diet is just irresponsible.

  • @sclaysdharma Thanks for sharing what is working for you. Each of us if different and your diet would not work for me and Durian Rider's Fruitarian would not either. Through trial and error and continuos improvement i have found my thriving diet. I am a mixture of Dr Garbriel Cousens, Dr Doug Graham, Dr Norman Walker and Dr Fred Bisci.

I do believe that refined white sugar is more harmful than any fruit.

  • @TheCoolVegetarian Yes, I agree, we are all different even though basically the same. That being we are all human beings whom developed through evolution. I tried every form of the vegetarian and vegan diet including Macrobiotic, vegan, and raw vegan before coming across a diet that I excelled on. Since you say the diet I use will not work for you, or the Durian Rider, I was just wondering how long each of you guys tried it for? And last I checked, the body treats fructose like a toxin.

  • @sclaysdharma It's irresponsible to say paleo is the "natural human diet" with all the studies out there linking cancer with high protein consumption and excess fat with heart disease. No spoonfuls of sugar would not be "less harmful" lol as there is no fiber in spoonfuls of sugar to slow the absorption of it. Low carb is no good and very dangerous. What you are really doing is modified atkins diet. These fake gurus just keep changing the name to make it sound better.

  • @82Bdog Your whole post shows you don't know a whole lot about nutrition or the way the human body works

  • @82Bdog I could not care less what individual gurus say about ANY diet. I am more interested in good science, well done studies, and the results of a diet on my performance, body comp, and health. So maybe you could point me to some of the great studies you refer to since I have only seen flawed and biased studies relating to harmful effects of high protein and fat consumption.

  • @sclaysdharma Hmm that's funny I see most of the biased studies coming from the meat and dairy industry. Your original comment shows you don't really know much about the diet you're criticizing. Whole food plant based diets provide everything a human needs.

  • @82Bdog Hmmm, yes well I can tell you don't spend much time looking at studies. If you read the studies instead of the abstracts, then you can get a better idea if they have any bias to them. The "China Study" is a good example. And I do understand a lot about that diet since I was on it for some time and followed the recommendations and advice of the "experts" in the vegan community. Oh yea, since a plant based diet provides everything a human needs, then maybe you should lay off the B12..

  • @sclaysdharma I don't take b-12 but would if I needed to. Maybe all the meat-eaters should lay off the b-12 to since they get it in their diet right?? But that's not the case is it? So once again you show your ignorance(this time about b-12).

  • @82Bdog Wow!, quite an ugly person aren't you? First calling me irresponsible and now ignorant. I guess thats it for me. Its kind of hard for me to communicate with you on that level.

  • @sclaysdharma They advise everyone to take B12.. no plant or animal produce B12 it is produced by bacteria.. due to the abuse mankind have done to the soil, fewer of these bacteria exist.. because of the abuse we have done to our bodied.. a lot of us are not able to absorb B12. While I was a meat eater I was B12 deficient, even when taking supplements, so I had to take injections.. but no probs there, better to take an injection than eat meat.. =)

  • @Mekelsior so how do they tell if you are not absorbing b12 as opposed to deficient? Is it still a problem for you on a Vegan diet?

  • @sclaysdharma I have not tested it since I had my injection, my energy levels are excellent since I began eating vegan, stopped adding in so much bad stuff such as refined sugars and free fats.. I will test my blood in a month or so, before going to Thailand and try the raw vegan lifestyle durianrider style ;)

  • @Mekelsior Well I would think eliminating the omega6 rich refined oils and sugars from you diet should help considerably. I was on a Raw Vegan diet for about a year and followed the advice of some of the top experts in the Raw Vegan community. I'm afraid I did not do so great on it, but it definitely helped to eliminate the wheat and the soy from my diet.Maybe it had too many carbs and too little protein .The indicators I use to tell how I am doing on a diet is how do I look, feel, and preform.

  • That S O NG is so incredible.....goose-bumps all the time....have to get my hands on that!!

  • you have b-12 supplements?I thought tha 80 10 10 raw vegan diet was what we are supposed to eat naturally. But supplements have to be produced, and are so NOT natural. Isn't that a contradiction? B-12 only comes with animal products and that's why it's a problem for us vegans. The rest of the population has a deficiency 'cause they eat too much crap and have bad absorption issues, you shouldn't use that as an excuse. We wouldn't survive without a supplement ...that's sad.

  • @anionaesca LOL you don't know what you're talking about. Did one of your gurus tell you that? He said he takes b-12 not all vegans need it.

  • @82Bdog Great! Would you list some vegan foods that provide B-12 or if you are a vegan tell me were you get it, how much etc. etc. cause I really wanna know that. I was trying to get some answers on the B-12 subject 'cause everyone says a different thing. I know what I'm talking about, but I might not know what you know. Share it with me my friend ;) I didn't mean to offend anyone, LOL. And btw, I'm my own guru, I always try to be critical with the nutritional info...

  • @anionaesca Like Durian Rider, I too was low on B-12 when i ate meat and even now when i am thriving on the raw vegan i still need the B-12. check out my video called " to supplement or not ? that is the question !" & "how to achieve great blod test results"

my understanding is that B-12 is a bacteria. I have been told that we can find it in seaweeds and algae but despite ingesting lots of that i still need to take the B-12 supplement although all my other numbers are perfect.

  • @82Bdog I forgot! Pleas don't mention supplemented food like cereals, soy etc. and I already know algae.

  • @anionaesca I wasn't going to as I and many others don't take that stuff either

  • @anionaesca I hear you on Durian Rider's B-12 usage but i can tell you that I too was low on B-12 when i ate meat and even now when i am thriving on the raw vegan i still need the B-12. check out my video called " to supplement or not ? that is the question !"

  • LOVED IT, GREAT VIDEO

  • @da1sinister1 Thanks Bro !!!

  • @comfykittydesigns So kool to hear that !!! glad that you are enjoying ***

  • @slimfoxTV I think you are right as I may have confused grams and calories. 22 calories per pound per day x 140 pound person = 3080 calories which is what Durian Rider Recommends. Thank you for the Clarity. I will add it to the description now so its more clear.

  • thanks for doings these videos.

  • "...and I'm still alive". David Wolfe quote.
