Does anyone know which episode introduced the new theme? The Hub is through "The Talent Search," and the episodes still feature the original one. I would have thought it changed with the new season, but I could be wrong.
i don't like this one. The first one is better. The Transformers opening theme changed each season, also. The Season 3 Transformers opening theme had a much more synthesized sound.
does anyone remeber Jem barbies? lol I loved the era of Jem and Barbies. now all you see are fat faced ugly bratz dolls. I think I would have hated those ugly things as a kid. Barbie > Bratz dolls. ick
@CandicePYT Nah. It really did start coming on like this--and this IS the second intro. I remember it vividly. The other intro was from when Jem came on with Big Foot and Inhumanoids.
--Am I the only one who used to get freaked out when Kimber would pop out of the screen and spray that perfume bottle? It just looked weird.
@mratfauver ok whatever you say.... but i still thinkits the first season opening...watch the opening for ep 1 and then you can tell me im wrong. this is just my oppion, not like it matters thoughlol^^
@theangelkap Did you ever watch Super Saturday or Super Sunday (depending on the channel that aired it)? If so, then you should be able to figure out that this particular opening I'm commenting on aired in the second season and not the first. And so, I stand by my earlier statement.
WTF? This sounds like the theme to a toy commercial. I do realize that all 80s kids cartoons were toy commercials but the original theme wasn't so blatant about it.
The first theme was intense and worthy of the 80's, this bullshit should have come out at the same time as Go Go Power Rangers. Where's Haim Saban in all of this, there's nothing his finger touches that doesn't turn to shit.
@saml760 from what i've seen of the hanna montana ads thats exactly what i thought too! a girl that has an alter ego where no one can tell its her bc of a wig change??
i don't know who the bangles are and iv always wondered myself when i was a kid who the hell sang those songs since they were really cool and always thought they could have been a great success if the group had been real.
oh forgot to mention, surely 'Jem' is short for Jemma? in which case I thought it wasnt a very common name in the USA. eather way being a Gemma myself I profer it spelt with a 'G' it would have been cool watching a character on tv with the same name as me, but then she would had to have been' Gem' instead.
I cant say I ever watched Jem, I was a barbie and the rockstars girl lol but I saw the ad for this on one of my VHS tapes and this was the theme song used, I've looked at both and tbh I like this one best cause its the one I remember and it seems more upbeat but their both gd :)

i was ten and a boy and watched it. it was good in a kids mind, and also my family didnt have cable. I think in some vague way maybe i wanted jem as a girlfriend. funny
Gem was originally suppose to be a show to appeal to both boys and girls. However, later on the audience mainly became female, thus, this new opening title that sound girlier and wants people to be a "Gem girl."
Do NOT go by the DVD that this version was the first Jem Intro. For those of us old enough to remember when this show first aired as part of the Big Foot/ JEM/ Robotix Super Sunday....it was the JEM "Truly Outrageous!" Theme. When she got her own show it was JEM theme. Not to mention the boxes had Truly Outrageous! printed on them, and the cassettes had the JEM Theme. NOT JEMGIRLS. It cheapens the show in my opinion. I feel that the first intro was about this young woman becoming who she wants to be and inviting girls to be who they want to be individuals and fantastic and talented. This second intro is about how everyone needs to be like Jem and that is not cool. Jem is who she is and we shoudl be who we are using her individuality as an example not as a recreation of who we are.
This is the original opening. It opened Jem for it's very first 4 episodes in season 1. During the 4th episode Jem and the Holograms had a song called,"Truly Outrageous", the next episode opened with the truly outrageous version of the opening that everyone is use too.

I wouldnt say that the first one was arrogant. I would say that the other one was self confident which is a good lesson for girls especially. The Misfits were a lesson of pride and arrogance and how prideful arrogant people fall and fall hard. I feel that the second intro saying that she and her friends are jem girls is arrogant and also weird because it seems as if jem sees herself as a "other" and a product instead of a person. That is weird.
nah... the more I hear it the more I realized that it never stuck with me not like the original... this one is not that great it didnt stick it didnt fit right.
also this talks like it is trying to get the girls to be like Jem...the other didnt focus on that...maybe this is the start of the 'be like the model' era for young girls
This was all about clothes, and fame and celebrity and bling bling... whereas the first one was about the actual music... as the misfits challenged that. so I can see why people prefer the first one over this.
I like the original better because it came first and because I remember that one the best. This is one is cool but it has a different vibe. The Misfits are out of it so there is no antagonism.
this killed it. Jem was a show that was targetted to boys and girls. the second season threw the focus into a commercialized world. kinda wish they could resurrect Jem, but glam and hair both died in america in the early 90's

I love the original one. It's the one I remember when I was a kid.

This theme tune is so upbeat and happier to sing along to and, yep, I love this one more than the original.

this killed it. Jem was a show that was targetted to boys and girls. the second season threw the focus into a commercialized world. kinda wish they could resurrect Jem, but glam and hair both died in america in the early 90's
