  • this sure brings back memories wish we could go back to being in the 90's

  • doesn't hold a candle to the japanese one.

  • I was disappointed to see the US track not being an option in the remake.

  • @bbopisback ...but it is

  • @bbopisback Go to soundtrack and choose USA.

  • @Ultimauser50

Right... sorry about that. I had no idea the option existed until I looked further into it. Whoops. :P

  • @bbopisback lol accidents happen.

  • This makes me want to shake and shimmy. Also, it reminds me of Hawaii. Kinda fitting how I say that because my sister lives there :-D

  • Sweet beach. ^^

  • Ah, MUCH better than the Japan version. I don't like hearing little children scream, it's annoying.

  • @Funkermonster I like both really. This is before you find out that there's a HUGE party.

  • WHY DO JAPANESE PEOPLE ALWAYS GET THE NICE THINGS?

  • No way, the Japanese one runs circles around this one. More upbeat, much more "life" and vitality in the song. Better musical progressions/transitions.

  • This is good as the Japanese one. It's hard for me to pick which is better.

  • finally i found i! this is the one i've been looking for

  • Too Hawaiian man!

  • In my opinion the japenese version of this song is way better

  • @Brandon71060

Yeah, the japanese songs sound more like songs you would expect in a sonic game, not saying the US soundtrack is bad. just the JAP one sounds more fitting imo of course

  • Throwing my hat into the soundtrack war, in general I prefer the Japanese soundtrack - though I will admit, the American version did have a few kick-ass tracks (particularly for the Present stages, not so much either Future...)

  • It saddens me that this wasn't in Generations with the JP one...

  • thank god i got the jap version

  • @emac5396

    um okay?

  • Sounds beachier then the JP version wait that doesn't sound right beachier...

  • I usually like the Euro/Jap soundtrack better, but this track is an exception.

  • It's upbeat and overly happy, japan one made me cry and get emotional Japan is better.

  • So tropical

  • While I prefer the japanese music, I do actually like both soundtracks, the japanese music is a lot better in my opinion but the american soundtrack is actually retty catchy and fits the levels, not that the japanese music doesn't fit the levels but you get my point.

  • I don't know why people think the Japanese version is better. If Sonic CD kept its jap soundtrack it wouldn't have had such a huge impact on me as my first Sonic game when I was five. I think too many obsessive japtards like it better only cause there's some idiots who obsess over anything Japan shits out. That's not to say the Jap soundtrack is not any good. Which it is. But back in the nineties Japan wasn't so understood and accepted as it is now. The music Sonic CD had would have been looked

  • @EThasAmulleT And i thought i was the only one that noticed this. Japtards can go fap to their material for all i care, i'm more attached to the english version anyway.

  • @FullmetalX4 Are you saying that people that like the JP soundtrack better are weaboos? It's an opinion not "DUR HUR I LIKE JP SOUND TRACK BECAUSE IT'S FROM JAPN" I like the JP soundtrack better because of it's catchy, oh and the JP soundtrack was also in the European version. Oh yeah I'm not saying the US is bad or anything, actually the US soundtrack is pretty epic.

  • @nznproductions No, i meant japenese-TARDS that think ANY japanese-related thing is better than its english version. While that may suffice in some english material that are mediocore it tends to get blown out of preportion and ends up making japanese related stuff look overrated. I'm not saying i dislike the japanese tracks of sonic cd because they are really catchy but i'm more into the english version. Its fine if people have opinions, but sometimes wanking it can go too far is what i meant.

  • @FullmetalX4 The JPN version IS also the English version. This is the American version.

  • which was used for the xbox version because i do not recognize this

  • @lykins8 Both, you can switch between the soundtracks on the main menu

  • For a zone called "Palmtree Panic", I definitely feel a lack or urgency in the US version of the song.

  • Copy this song and then when ever you at the beach you play this song and relax..... Thumbs up or thumbs down for fail =S

  • Sounds like something from Diddy Kong Racing.

  • MOAR like Mario Sunshine.

  • This sounds like a mix of DJ and T-Hawks Street Fighter Theme.

  • One huge thing is taken out of the equation when you listen to the music on YouTube: the game. Listening to the Japanese and US versions of the music on YouTube, I thought they were pretty much the same quality. However, now that this game is out for XBOX Live and you can choose which soundtrack to listen to, I tried playing this stage with both of the different soundtracks...and the Japanese version (in my opinion) fits SO much more. It gives the level this feeling of fast fun from the start.

  • A happy Latin influenced theme. This track needs no changes to it. Ties with the faster JP version. JP 13 US 9

  • =)

  • This is really the only happy sounding track in the USA version. there are more but the JAP version is um, very cheery and happy I guess overall. You guys know what I mean right? Take the USA and JAP boss music for example. One is really creepy and the other is just hilarious. "Work that sucker to death!"

  • Both soundtracks are great in their own respects

what I found strange about this song is my Mom loved this song so much she added to her iPod and she doesn't do that very often with video game music.

  • This is more beach-party/luau like. The Japanese version fits in a parade, though.

  • Wow. I regret calling the Japanese soundtrack superior.

  • @ZXReploidHunter Well, there's ONE part where the JP soundtrack is, indeed, better.

...And I think all of us know what I'm talking about.

  • I can imagine Amy dancing with this.

  • Man the USA soundtrack of this game is really underrated.

  • This kinda sounds like a tropical beach somewhere in Mexico, really nice. This and the JAP version

  • @mcjd300 nah

  • I've heard this in Sonic Robo Blast 2 Summer House!

  • i prefer this to the JP version, but I generally prefer the JP in general. I hope you can customize the music in the rerelease for this.

  • @halberdierv2 This. Exactly this. Hopefully they'll handle the licensing issues for the soundtrack in the re-release so we can mix-and-match...

  • @halberdierv2 you cant, but thats a cool idea

  • at 0:01, i thought it would be creepy.....

  • I'm so glad im in PAL region, i had the JAP soundtrack

  • Hearing this reminds me of going to Florida for a vacation :-D

  • I'm just going to tell you a thing that would change your life, in the background of this picture shown on the video. Look at the biggest mountain, do you see it yet? If yes then I just changed the way you will look at this picture again.

  • The US version is BAD!

    I like the Yeeeeeeah!!

    Of the JAP u.u

  • @lucasrapael USA > JAP

    just sayin.

  • @Iceeman234 are you mad?

  • it was weird hearing the japanese verison...like wtf is this??

  • This is like 1,000,000x better than the Japanese version of Palmtree Panic

  • There seems 2 b a latin influence in this version it sounds very cheery and the guitar is a good element. 1 of the better American tracks.

  • and back in these days sega were in their glory days constantly making nintendo look out dated and lame ha ha. sega cd came out when i was 7 years old about 8 i remember seeing the commercials for it and i was like I MUST HAVE THIS ! and when i got it my super nintendo just collected alot of dust XD

  • @james4869ryoma Sounds like a track from Mario Sunshine, but I can't think of the specific one.

  • NOOO WERES THE LITTLE PLAYFUL KIDS LIKE IN THE JAP VESION O_o

    LittleKids:YEAAAA

  • Is it me? Or did SEGA decided to use Nintendo's SMW2 music?

  • This sounds like a Mario Kart beach stage or something like that D:

  • Reminds me of the price is right

  • do you have "Palmtree Panic (past)"?

  • Sounds like Croc 2 music

  • @Drewmartial2

Because of the acoustic guitar? Well yeah I suppose you are right. But if you listen to some of the USA bad futures, I think you'll find they are a lot more ominous...

  • You know what?

This would have been so much better if the tempo was faster.

  • sonic cd needs to be a wii shop game

  • Sounds VERY similar to Yoshi's Island over-world theme

  • I honestly think the North American music is better then the Japan and Europe music. Sega of America did a fantastic job!

  • @mariofan96 Yeah, and then you hear the Game Over music...

  • @mariofan96 didn't you hear the boss theme?

  • @mariofan96 I'm from Spain and this was the music in my game... I don't know why do we have to listen to japanese ost in the android game... it sucks...

  • @mariofan96 me too man but i think both the US and JP soundtracks have thieir strengths im just tired of fanboys always saying the japanese versions are better and the US versions suck. this is an example of my opinion this version sounds brillant while the JP verison sounds ok bub does fit right

  • i definitly prefer over the japanese. its just too happy for me..

  • This song DOES feel like its trying too hard... You can tell it's trying to be exciting and fun, but it's so one-keyed and dull that it just comes off as depressing.

  • @Fredcheesburger thats your bad side talking

  • @Fredcheesburger There's a term for what you're doing. It's called "talking out your ass".

  • ahh this song does explain the start of sonics journey to defeat eggman i just dont like the blandness in it and it seems i've missed the party rather than seeing it first.

the japanese actually roots for sonic in a amazing way but still is a little bland but still i liked a japanese just a bit better with the american classes of instruments

  • I never liked this song; it still sounds depressing for some reason... like it's trying too hard.

  • @nigelrugby

Yeah... I see what you mean... Then, when I heard the Japanese version for the first time, I cheered with the kids. It sounded so much better.

  • NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD

  • @Reierdacool MAJOR SYSTEMS OFFLINE!!111!!!!11

  • lol that means i got the jap version

  • can you extend this?

  • @zackguel:

    It's added to my list.

  • You know what I like about Sonic CD's music is that it makes you feel like your in the Sonic game World!

  • this is a good track, i do prefer the energy of the japanese soundtrack, but i think the american soundtrack of this game is still good.

  • the Japanese one is much much much better

  • @UR86 I get REALLY tired of people saying that like a gang of elitist lemmings...

  • @MetalGearRaxis

Agreed, why can't they see that BOTH versions kick ass?

  • no way, that sounds like a pile of garbage. It doesn't suit a sonic game IMO.

  • Take the Japanese penis out of ur mouth!

  • @MRR0000WIE My god. So you don't like the Japanese version. Okay, you don't have to be a dick about it.

  • @MRR0000WIE You're nuts.

Even if it's 7 months old, you are nuts. =D

  • @UR86

i tend to disagree to that

  • @UR86 I really do love the Energy in the Japanese ver.

  • reminds me of ristar

  • @moistboiz2010 same here on the first stage

  • I have this game on Sonic Gems Collection. I love this zone! By far, it's the easiest to pass.

  • because it is the first zone

  • Exactly!!!

  • FTW!

  • i like the intro and the 2:50 part, but i like the jap version more :)

  • what?

  • That isn't MSN, but it does sound very similar to the sound that it makes when you are IM'd on MSN Messenger.

Anyways, this song is great. Sonic always has good first level songs.

  • this is the version i grew up with and possibly my mom's favourite vg tune

i love the japanese version much more, though

  • JAP/EU version is better.

  • I like this one, it sound great. The US sounds much more chilled and aims at the tropical aspect of the level. It reminds me a lot of the angel island track from sonic 3, i also love that acoustic guitar part on 2:50, it sounds very happy!

  • @Nesplayer 2:50?!?! lol wut

  • @Nesplayer

    same here

  • No one cares D=

  • bout what?

  • @sonicfreak94 I do!

  • yeah we know you are the first....retard
