@cordinal123 takes more energy to set it up than what is released at that 'launch' so no, not really, has more potential as a rail gun system, that uses electromagnetics to lauch a projectile many many times faster than bullets, causing massive damage (think the pyrimid scene in Transformers 2, that Navy Battleship has a theoretical rail gun on it, launching a supersonic projectile from many miles away, with pinpoint accuracy)
