  • meaty sound lol

  • great playing and great sound! nice Strat!

  • wow sweet wish i cud get my blues to that standard

  • i left my gibson untouched after i got my strat.LOL! just awesome

  • Very nice tone & playing.

  • Best demo for this Strat bar none. This is the closest you're gonna get to a Fender Custom 69 Strat without paying the Custom Strat price. Trust me.

  • i bet you get all the girls...

  • Let me guess your a big eric clapton and bonamassa fan but your a srv fan too but mainly clapton? I hear them all but still great job

  • @Ericclapton325 - You've got a great ear! Yes, they are all influences of mine. Bonamassa more lately, but 4 years ago when I made this video it was a lot more Clapton.

  • @qcklx Thanks. But you really rocked it. It was great to listen to, great player and tune. Keep up the the good work 5/5

  • Excellent play. So what if you stayed in one pentatonic... you exploited it well. I clicked on your video to check out the sound and play of the Guitar/Neck/Pickup combo. Thanks for a great demo. You'll get better everytime you play. Don't look over your shoulder at those you pass. They are where they need to be.

  • do you think that this is as good as a stevie ray vaughan strat? thanks and awesome playing by the way.. this video is giving me second thoughts on buying a new srv strat

  • I love your guitar playing. I am thinking about buying an American Standard Strat and replacing the pickups with Fender Custom Shop 69 pickups.

  • @MultiScoffer have you check out lindy fralins pick ups?

  • @michaelgroenewald7 Yes. I don't like them but a lot of guitar players do. Just a matter of one's tonal pallet. I'm a huge fan of Seymour Duncan and Tonerider pickups. Good to hear from you. Trying to find a good tube amp head Blues. Any suggestions?

  • Your demo in this video decided me to buy the same guitar! Thank you for help ;-)

  • I know its a keeley modded tubescreamer but what's the tubescreamer model? TS9? TS808? because you've got an amazing sound going on there and i'm really getting frustrated with trying out loads of overdrive pedals that don't satisfy my needs...

  • nice playing...... that guy was obviously a wanker . great strats for the money those ey . well great strats full stop

  • Hey! Great playing! Have you changed the pickups or is this the stock ones? What do you think of this guitar?

  • i dunno what desputes y'all have but you got some chops bud. i am getting this guitar by the way. i hope it delivers. i am an american fan but i figure why not right.

  • keep it up bro, you sound sickk, although if i may say, get a new mic, and turn up your amp more, hahaha =P basically, i want the video in hd, and sound quality better, hahaha

  • ....improve our playing. Your comments essentially read that you are the authority in judging other's guitar skills because you've been there done that, and did it great. By the way, where's those sound clips, vids, backyard 8mm films or whatever showcases your talent??

  • Comment removed

  • @qcklx Dude how you gonna know what to improve on if someone doesn't tell you? One day you will look back on this as an experience that helped you improve. Try to see the positive side as well. You are young and you have time on your side to learn and improve. Your passion will get you there no doubt! If you cannot accept criticism then that's something you have to deal with- Some of my students don't realize it until they get into top bands- win all the talent shows and get a recording deal.

  • TheStratplayer1- The difference between you and BB, Muddy, etc...is their ability to remain humble and respectful, despite their absolutely superior guitar skills. You might just be an awesome guitarist, that's just heresay so far, but your comments are abrasive and self-promoting. Criticizing while stamping down your laundry list of venues you've played is just arrogant. I welcome constructive criticism, because we ALL can I

  • @qcklx @qcklx I am a Tutor in performing arts and a musician of 35 years professionally so it is constructive comments.... if you want to get all sensitive about it and- not take it how it was given (constructively) you will never improve- and after all- you did ask for comments I am entitled to an opinion and to do just that. Lastly this is a world forum and you get judged by your performance because you asked... I have nothing to prove- I am comfortable in my own skin..

  • @thestratplayer1-i guess when you started, you were already a legend in blues huh ?

  • TheStratplayer1 - sorry you didn't like the video, everyone can't be a fan I guess. Thanks for the "constructive" criticism. Do you by chance have any videos of your awesome blues skills? I'd love to learn from one of the greats...

  • @qcklx try BB King or Muddy Waters, or Clapton or Buddy guy- the don't play flat and out of key? They get more out of a single note than most people get out of 10 phrases- I don't have a video but I do have MP3's online of me playing the Blues on Soundclicks? and comments... do you really want to go there....

  • Comment removed

  • @qcklx lol. the stratplayer guy tht mkes those dumb comments is a punk. lotta ppl can talk smack and criticize other ppl whn they dont have a video of themselves for others to talk about. but awesom playing and awesome guitar. im thnking about getting tht same one............just waiting for my credit to clear up........wish me luck!!!! lol

  • nive vid man, I have the same guitar. Would you recommend 11s over 10s for strings ?

    Cheers

  • hella nice job dude, very cool

  • That was amazing man. Loved every minute

  • I love to hear a real blues guitar !!!

  • @53bluzer sorry to disappoint you and the guitarist but that aint the blues- the timing is shocking and hes playing flat half the time and out of key? The phrasing is not measured and/or distinct its just a wall of ad lib and improvisation without any aim or any real focus.... he is over reaching his limitations. However; he is young and has potential. Sorry but professional musicians and bluesman do not get paid for potential.... its tough love but- Quality feedback makes us improve...

  • @TheStratplayer1 i think when he asked for opinion, he wanted constructive ones, not some abrasive crappy douchy ones.

  • .11's on a strat! I'd rip my fingers open touching those things.

  • how might this one differ from the 70's or 50's strat? great jam by the way

  • great vid

  • I can't believe how good this strat sounds for such a cheap price. What is it that gives this guitar such a sweet sound?

  • Fab!!

  • If I hadn't already a youtube-account I'd certainly just make one to tell you how awesome that sounds. You got the blues-spirit, man. Keep it up! 5*

  • I just got one a few wekks ago!! I love it! Sonic blue for me too!

Right now, it needs a good setup but what a great Strat!

  • it's my guitar too :D

    awesome

  • Really nice tone.

  • Nice playing. Guitar sounds good too. I was in the Mexican factory a few years ago and the workers really take pride in what they do.

  • Beautiful!

  • Awesome!

  • really great dude. if I could say anything it'd be to advise a tid bit more syncopation. It might just be my own style of playing, but I usually like to disregard meter when I do my runs and stuff.

but boy, that sounds amazing. I'm crazy about your tone

  • Eh, nice playin man! 2.49 !!! Wicked ! Keep this up!

  • Beautiful phrasing there, my man! Beatiful.

  • You are ridiculous!!! Awesome playing!

  • bravo super ^^

  • hey very nice playing!!! Also do happen to like the 2 point tremolo over the 6 point?

  • that's some sweet pickin right there

  • hey that lick at 4.44 was nice, i just bought this guitar yesterday, its comin next week :),always wanted a strat, what you guys think of it?iv heard good stuff, just wondering is it any good for feedback and sustain?good vid

  • you forget sunglases, dude.

  • no four

  • nice

what is your Tube Screamer setup?

  • strats for life

  • hell yeah

  • Wow theres some really nice runs in there. Nice to see you vary away from what we expect to hear.

  • Sounds great.

  • great feelin' and playin, but sometimes you are out of tone!!

like you were using same pentatonic liks in another tones

  • vaya peaso de blues colega. IMPRESIONANTE

  • Damn, now I want a Stratocaster again...

  • great playing and great tone

    cheers man

  • cool tones dude!!

  • this makes me want to go get one

  • Bes Blues on youtube.

  • Oh wow, hell yes!

  • Wish the vid was a lot clearer as this is the best electric blues on youtube.

I'm learning from it nonetheless. :)

  • Sounds awesome!!! Great chops my friend. I just bought this same guitar 3 days ago and I can not put it down. It just feels and sounds so awesome.

  • you absolutely ripped it. 5 stars

  • Good tone. Thumbs up.

  • am I wrong or are there parts in between (for instance at 1:04) where he switches from the regular blues scale to some kind of a major blues scale??

  • the regular blues scale is in minor, when he switches to the major solo scale it's always 3 frets down, so instead of soloing in E minor he's switched to E major. Eric clapton does this a lot, for example the sunshine of your love solo starts off in major (with some weird notes added in though) and then switches over. It's always 3 frets down and applies to to any chords.

  • so bassically move the blues scale 3 frets down and you have the major version?

  • pretty much.

  • four

  • He's playing notes not scales. If you slow it down he hits lots of different notes from different modes, but yeah he does toy with the major third, the major 7th, the dorian sixth and the major 2nd if that's any help.

  • Aah yeah that good old dorian sixth... That was the first note I learned on my guitar:)

  • Fuck you just confused me. God, I just learn songs from tabs.

  • and look at jerry jackson by the look of it :DDDD

  • saland findles lol, jerry jackson?

  • ★★★★★★★★★★

  • do you know the difference between a fender classic player 50's and 60's?

  • The '50s is based on a '50s strat and as such has a maple neck, classic '50s finishes (shorline gold and 2-tone sunburst), a V shape neck, and more '50s orientated electronics.

The '60s has a rosewood fretboard, '60s finishes (sonic blue and 3-colour sunburst), a C shaped neck, and '60s style electronics (including custom shop '69 pickups).

  • my last question, oh and thanks for your reply:). The is a fender classic Player 60, and a classic series 60, whats the difference between them? MIM and american? a bit weird that an old friend of mine decided to buy a fender 60: so i asked:" classic player?!" no no just a 60's strat, is that the classic series?

  • The classic and Classic Player are both MIM, but the Classic Player is custom shop designed. The CP has upgraded pickups, a 12" radius compared to the 7.25 of the classic. The classic player has a USA 2-point bridge with vintage saddles, while the classic has a 6-point. The CP has Medium jumbo frets compared to the vintage small frets on the Classic. The Classic Player retails for about 1,100 while the classic for about 700-800 bucks

  • The 50's also has a 9.5 " radius neck, and the 60's has a 12" radius neck. The 50's has a custom wiring setup that's different than the regular strat wiring. the 50's has locking vintage tuners. The 50's has 57/62 pickups.

  • nice sound and cool playing!hey hey,the blues is alright!

  • which your tubescreamer Keeley?

  • On your neck tone control, do you know how they are wired? I'm interested in the type of capacitors being used on the classic player series.

  • there all the same dude. Just a Silcon .002 Capacitor, or even better, a sprague orange drop capacitor.

  • right on, what settings were u runnin on the screamer and amp man?

  • IMPRESSIVE !!

  • guitar playing is really art its never end that the beauty in guitar =] anyway again nice cover and i am sure u r better now

  • that is really good but its can be better if u not play only on one pentatonic form and once a... alittle bit get wild anyone nice and try to shade the solo with more froms and more scales

  • You are correct and make a good point...

I made this video nearly two years ago. I have focused on adding more color to my scales since then. Really been into Joe Bonamassa lately...

Guitar playing is an art you can never stopping learning!

  • @qcklx Your playing is great-don't listen to anyone else--during some Hendrix solos, he stayed in the same position the entire time! (of course though, that was Hendrix!) Keep it up!

  • @qcklx Iit sounds really good, wat other scales would u add, whilst hholding onto the blues feel?

  • When I bought it 2 years ago, it was selling for $739 at GC. I haggled them down to $600, paid around $650 or so after taxes.

I can't believe they want over a thousand now. Ridiculous.

  • @qcklx

In Australia, even when the US and Aussie dollar are almost at parity (or were when a guitar was imported) we get charged around $1800 for it. I think most of the extra cost is Fender Australia taking a cut. The greedy fags.

  • @pronumeral1446 What? all not well in "the lucky country" and "the land of Milk and honey" lol I bought a few toys when I was gigging over there- two Fender Twin Reverbs, a Black Les Paul custom and a Les Paul Gold top. As well as a Strat (only a 70's Strat and a white Les Paul Junior) That was from playing RSL's, Pub gigs and opening for Aussie Crawl; Chisel and Few US artists in some 12,000 seater Concert halls in Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide lol

  • @TheStratplayer1 Damn you are cool! 12,000 people wow! How many were left after you got on stage?

  • @tnrh1

Penatonic is perfect for the blues.Dont listen to him bro.You sound great.

  • @tnrh1 Man, what he's doing is just fine. You must be from this younger generation of nothing but critics and whiners. Chill... it's fine. He's jammin'

  • this is the blues

  • thats some bad bad stuff man

  • did you mean that in a good way?

  • Great playing !

  • very!!!!!! very!!!!!! nice!!

    fender?

  • yeah its a fender

  • man nice playing! nice guitar. would you recomend it?

  • uhm you said this strat was 600 dollars at gc???

because uhm its listed for 1,100

did the recent price jump really raise the price THAT much???

  • I've seen them listed for 799.99 and then the jump up to 1,109.99. ProGuitarShop still has some for 799.99. I wonder if they were talking about the classic series or something. Personally I think it's crap that these prices are getting jacked up so high.

  • i have this guitar, i think it was more around 800 as a standard price, maybe his was on sale. i know mine was only 700 cause it had been on the shelf awhile and it was the only one left.

  • you sure you dont have the classic SERIES 60s strat? =P

because now the price on those at musicians friend is about 850

honestly i dont feel really good about buying an imported guitar for close to a thousand..

but i guess fender sees it necessary to jack up prices in effort to stay afloat..

still affordability always made fenders that much better in my eyes..

not have to break the bank to get a quality instrument ya know?.

  • oh believe me i know my guitars, and its a classic players 60's strat. its got the custom pickups and everything. i think all music companies are jacking up prices though cause of the economy.

  • maybe the guitar for 1.100 dollars is worn out series...

  • no the Road worn is cheaper at about 900-950, the CLASSIC PLAYER series is 1,100. They used to be around 800 before the price hike

  • Classic Player is about 500 euro in Europe .. I think it would be strange that they are more expensive near the place they come from.

  • yes the prices did raise that much. You used to be able to pick them up discounted for around $600. Regular price was around $800. List price is now $1100. Glad I got mine when I did for $475.

  • that was pretty cool, i should work out in C more often, like you

  • Great licks! I think you should work out the silences!

    whatever, nice playing man!

  • is it more white or blue? cause in the fender pictures seems completely white, but now it seems blue...

  • it's icy-blue... it looks white-ish on its own but when you're actually holding it you can clearly see it blue.... kinda like one shade lighter than baby blue... if it makes sense :p

  • wat is your knobs set to on that tube screamer and is it a ts 808 or somethin else??????? thanks

  • level ~12o clock, drive~1o clock, tone ~ 8 oclock....

  • Great playing, great gear, great guitar! :)

  • ddddddddddddddddamn!! :] got to start learning that right now

  • Beautiful phrasing, keep up the good work!

  • good playing and good tone!

do you think that this guitar can be better than the american 62 reissue?

  • Nice feel and good tone. Some grrrreeeaaattt licks in there!

  • I'm trying to decide between this guitar, a standard american strat and a highway 1 strat. I play alot of punk rock leaning into metal but whenever i solo i always make sure its all blues :) Good playing too!

  • Highway 1!!!

  • They are better. A little more clear and articulate. I dont think you will disappointed in this strat if you get one. The tube screamer doesn't hurt either..

  • Hey, i think i'll get the same guitar, i'm using a vox ac15, i'll hope it will sound as great as you :D

  • does the ts-9 sound good stock through a tube amp?

  • Definitely

  • I hear this at least twice a day.. it makes me calm! thanx man

  • Your very welcome, thanks for the comment!!

  • where dig you get this backing track?

I love your Style man! I'm playing the same Guitar and I love this baby!!!

  • how much is this one

  • o.k., anyone who knows (fender)guitars i would really really appreciate the help.I am getting a new fender guitar for christmas and i am allowed to get any one under the price range of 1200 dollars. I have been in between many gutars and cannot make up my mind which one i want. I have been in between the classic player 50s, the new highway one and the new american standard and i dont know which one to pick. Also if you know of any other great models by fender let me know. Thanks a lot!

  • i would say go for the american standard. or if u can splurge a just a bit of extra dough go for the american deluxe. i have the american deluxe and trust me, itll last you probably forever

  • in my opinion, the classic player's 50's is the best choice. i think the american standard is VERY muddy, and it doesn't stay in tune AT ALL. the 60's is actually designed by custom shop and built with a couple of custom shop parts, and it has one of the best bridges you can get for a strat. hope this helps!

  • dude i have a fender american strat deluxe and it is incredible. Im also in the same situation as Ihsg2012. Im gonna get a fender for christmas. I had my mind set on a tele but the classic player series is lookin pretty good

  • if u can go try out some of the vintage reissues. i tried the 52 tele and the 62 strat and couldnt let either of them go. so maybe once i have some money ill get one of those. they do require some extra cash

  • yea. Im excited to go and try out vintage reissues. But part of the reason I want a tele is because i want to get a different model instead of another strat. But i guess it comes down to preference when im actually playing them. Do you know what the price was on those guitars? on the 52 tele?

  • a 52 tele new is about 1500. for the 62 strat its about 1650. kinda pricey but so worth it

  • lite ash is pretty awsome, both strat and tele, check it out

  • dude this guitar is SO worth it....its amazing.

  • What kind of music do you play?

  • I have been pondering this same question for years, and I own an american standard. I regret getting it.

The fact is that the only reason americans are more expensive is because of the american craftsmanship. You can find a mexican that feels just as good as an american, you just need to look around.

Anyway, look into the Classic 50s strat. AMAZING strat. $700. Classic Player 60s is great as well, but the pickups are very different.

  • The Pickups in these guitars are in fact the same pickups that the Abigail signature comes on, Just the later model classic player 60's were wound by a team trained by AY and not herself.

If you buy a set of cs69 pickups they are the same as these pickups.

  • Great sounding guitar man.

Just to clarify for others though, it's a classic players, not a custom shop piece. Custom shop pieces are near impossible to distinguish from actual 50-70's era strat's.

That is a great sounding strat none-the-less. You have some good licks in there, sounds cool.

  • it is designed by custom shop and made with custom shop parts, though.

  • Made in America?

  • Mexico

  • that is one of the best guitar videos ive seen aside from that brazilian guy

  • Thanks!! I appreciate that...

Now who's this Brazilian guy, so I can go check out his video :)

  • ok man verry nice ...great sound vintage

  • hey man fantastic playin

how does this guitar tango with distortion? lol

  • great jam, i love blues!!!

  • absolutely smokin

  • soul my friend, your face shows it.

  • Blimey, that's great stuff - love the sounds you're getting.

  • Excellent paying the blues, well done!!!!

  • verry good playing man !!! greetings from kurt-belgium...

  • hey

i was just curious. how does the 60's strat compare to the american strats playing/sound wise. because im extremely interested in buying one in the same color urs is. im a blues player like urself. with a fender hotrod deville. lemme know wat u think
