I think Keanu Reeves is brilliant in this movie. Every critic who says he is a "one-note" actor needs to watch him in this. Also, people forget that the personalities he portrays on his movies are the ones he's hired to create. He's doing what the director wants him to do... and I personally think he's one of the most under-rated actors of his generation. Besides that, the man is smokin' hot!

I saw this movie once. He was pretty monstrous in it, strangling and killing people. And yet, I still couldn't stay mad at him. Oh well. I wish this movie had ended with him being taken into custody and kept in a high security prison, like underground or something like Silence of the Lambs. And Clarice Starling comes to study him and ask his advice. And he won't be able to get to her because of the glass. Oooh that would be good. Keanu and Jody.

He charmed his way into getting to know her a bit (the dancing and joking), and then attacks her, but she gets away (unlike all the rest who don't) and so now she knows his true intent, and thus is afraid and running for dear life!

he has the same few wooden expressions in every film, making him only believable when he is confused and ridiculous other times. i find him impossible to identify with as the hero and completely unscary as the bad guy. i don't understand why he is picked for roles other than 'armed goon no 6'. any time he is in a good film its an accident.

Of course he cares. Keanu picks scripts that he likes and thinks will be good.. He doesn't care about the money he gets. He once turned down an $11 million paycheck for Speed 2 because he wanted to play Hamlet in Canada, for which he got paid on Actor's Guild MINIMUM wage.

bill and ted was a long time ago, pretty much the exception that proves the rule as he was portraying a teenager. and i'm sure he's professional and hard working: i don't hate the guy, but he's as wooden as hayden christensen. if he's picking what he thinks are good scripts he doesn't have great taste. the day the earth stood still was just dire.

I don't find him wooden; the first time I heard people call him that I didn't know why, though I've seen more of his teen roles than his more recent stuff. He usually picks films for their stories, or who he will be working with. For TDTESS, someone else suggested him for the role in 1994, and Keanu really liked the original so he joined up. But yeah, that one had a bad script. Apparently it started off worse though.

(Lastly, Keanu >>>>> Hayden. Case in point, Hayden ruined Star Wars.)
