Why are we supposed to be crying for this kid? At his age he should be smart enough not to bring any type of gun (real or not) to school let alone point one at a cop. Does anybody honestly think a cop is going to sit there wondering "hey, maybe this is a BB gun" with all the school shootings that have occurred in recent history much less having somebody point one at him?
Honestly, I have no sympathy for somebody doing something stupid like that. His death is his own damn fault.

As much as I think the shooting is horrific, the kid should have never brought that thing to school in the first place. I'm always on my son about bringing realistic looking toys to public places for just this reason. Should the kid have been shot dead? Fuck no. Should the kid have brought the realistic pellet gun to school? Fuck no. Two wrongs don't make any of this shit right. Use your heads people. If it looks like the real thing, people assume it's the real thing, especially cops.
@spacekimono Remember what happened in Louisiana a few years ago? A Japanese exchange student there was on his way to a Hallowe'en party and picked the wrong house. He couldn't understand "Freeze!" and was killed. A little boy in a costume. The Japanese were horrified and uncomprehending of all this. That would be totally illegal here in France. If you do that, even with an intruder, you WILL go to jail, no matter what your age. I know it is a touchy issue.
@spacekimono I wonder what the shooter feels after all this time? An obviously small "intruder" in a Batman costume or something? We had a case here in France recently and a very old man had to do a few years in prison against some mirauding Welfare drunks who'd pilfered his vegetables and tool shed regularly. Everyone felt very sorry for the old man but you cannot do that here in France. Rural France scares the heck out of me, it really does.
maybe it was suicide by cop did you ever think of that troll

@3000rebecca And look at it from the cops point of view. They didn't take chances.

Pellet gun is BB gun with .177 pellets btw. And I think he deserves that since he's so smart for pointing the gun at police.

I believe the white adult devils at the school gave that boy the toy gun.

Another sad day. Had him cornered, and instead of talking to him, or at least waiting for a shot, they just droped him.

@rooftopeagle What happened to doing what the cops say and putting down the gun. If you were a cop would you take chances.

I don't get this. The 8th grader either had a death wish or it didn't go down the way the officers stated. Hmm.
