Documents from the 1800s are interesting but unless they correspond to current doctrine, they are outdated doctrine. And yes doctrine does change with a church that has continuing revelation. We aren't stuck in the past like the other religions are.

In terms of history: the Mountain Meadows Massacre, racism against blacks, some of the alledged misconceptions of the Joseph Smith Story, etc.

Documents from the 1800s are interesting but unless they correspond to current doctrine, they are outdated doctrine. And yes doctrine does change with a church that has continuing revelation. We aren't stuck in the past like the other religions are.

For example, Mormons DO NOT believe that Joseph Smith did more for the salvation of man than Jesus (I speak as a former Mormon with ABSOLUTE KNOWLEDGE of the falsity of that statement.
