Remember 48 also signed Rick Davis from Channel 31. I was a reporter at 48 then and that anchor team did get us noticed for the first time.
The first half of this I think is from November 1978 (same day as the WAFF 1978 clips identified by the stock closing) and the second half definitely by 1980 (there's a further clip from this set - another of the newer News People opens, but the lead story is WHNT's sale to the New York Times Company).
Good ole H.D. I remember sitting up watching him throughout the '74 tornadoes.
