i had that same cross-ram i had it on my 77 hornet then i ended up selling it like a dummy cause i wanted a 69 amx needless to say i sold the intake and got the amx 2 weeks later now i cant find one at all
This little car as a big bite, always respected how AMC went fast for a low buck price. It's just as quick as the big expensive muscle car that I own. It also came with a pair of mirrors from Hurst like your AMC. I need to post a video of it someday.
I once owned a '68 American wagon that had a factory 290 with a close ratio B/W super T-10 and a posi. It was all stock from the factory with the 290 badges on the fenders. To bad I couldn't register it because there wasn't a title. So I swaped everthing into a 64 American S/W. What a little sleeper! I wish I had that car now.
Did you know you could have ordered an 79 Pacer with a 304?? I know I worked at a AMC dealership then.
These cars were light and fast. A fat guy sat in the back of my '67 American during a car pool and his mass broke the sheet metal shock mount which was not rusty. 199 six, no radio, 3 speed, rubber floor mat - I miss that car. Thanks for posting!
It's nice to see AMC getting its due. I was 18 when I a ten yr. old '68 290 auto. beater. I fixed it up the best I could back then, looked good, not so fast. But that was my fault, not the car. Kept it for 8 or so yrs. & sold it in Rapid, S.D. AMX will always be my AMC favorite, but love every other muscle model AMC made in their heyday. Love the way yours thumps away at the tailpipes. Nice rare intake manifold.
I am 52 years old and I remember a guy in my town had one of these. When I was a teenager I used to love to just look as he drove by. And then in the late 70's I saw one in a junk yard and always wondered if it was his. A rare car indeed.
AMC will always be one of my favorite car campanys. They had all the good engineers from GM and Mopar and Ford. Those cars shure could kick some ass.
I want to get one because all the kids these days will see an AMC and be like "What is that?!" because they don't know anything outside a Mustang or a Camaro.
the SWEETEST muscle cars ever built!!! A and B series!!! god i love them! brings back so many memories. me, my bro and dad ahad a and b series. they were sweet! nothing better than an old AMC

Those mirrors are art! I grandfather had one of these cars and always talked about it, though it was long gone by time I came around. Nice ride
