I really don't like this episode for most of it, I don't like the fact that they make such a huge deal about Tommy dating a white women. Ethnicity should have nothing to do with who you chose to date, just because you're black doesn't mean that you have to date a black person.
You act like everybody tried to fight the chick and called her racist names. They were surprised at first and then they got over it. Nobody did anything wrong. Their reactions to her were natural. I think people get this idea that just because there is so much interracial dating going on in the world now that race is still not something people think about. Everyone thinks about it and still make judgments based on it.
Also from what I saw, Martin was opposed to Tommy marrying her because he had JUST met her, not because she was white. Just like on another episode where Pam was about to marry that rich guy but Gina didn't want her too because they had just met. I think it's funny that you automatically assume that they don't approve of her because she's white when Martin and Cole already expressed to Tommy that they're cool with it as long as he's happy.
