Because I don't care about ad on on my browser at the moment...besides many make your browser slow. Chrome looks nice and is definately faster....at least for me. Firefox is okay, but the UI sucks, even with themes. I still like FF better than IE though! ;) It's just that chrome does a better browsing for me.

chrome is definitely faster, especially on slower computers. i just bought a brand new netbook, and chrome is the only browser that i can run like it's on my desktop computer. all the others just lag. even on my desktop it's much faster. but my favorite thing is the interface. it's SUPER simple and takes up very little screen size. plus the search/address bar is a huge plus.

I went to chrome 1.0 from firefox, used that until 2.0 then switched to firefox 3, and now with chromes 3 beta i switched to and it is by far the fastest browser around.

Google Chrome is actually faster and uses less system recourses than Firefox, Don't thumbs down me as what I have just said is actually a proven scientific fact. I like Firefox and used it for a very long time but the fact remains Google Chrome is smarter and faster.

You know since fire fox 3.5 came otu it been really slow to boot up and then mozzila came out with 3.5.1 witch i seem to see to be a lot faster boot up that is the newest version so i am guessing mozzila fix that problem

special tabs from safari, new tab homepage from opera, and the suggesting for websites when u write in the address bar from safari.

there is a reason why opera, firefox and ie, doesnt make those special tabs, because they dont want a rip-off.

Downloading speed is exactly the same regardless of the browser. The difference is the loading of web pages which yes is downloading in itself but it involves actually using the browsers layout engine which "normal" downloading does not do.

Despite your disregard for syntax, you are still wrong, Sure Chrome is a lot faster and that's why I use it for every day use, however, due to the availability of shitloads of extensions firefox is does a lot that chrome can't. Debugging becomes infinitely easier with Firebug, grabbing files from Youtube is easy with UnPlugg and so on. Firefox is still superior in the customization department and that counts for a lot.

True, true and true... Fire Fox is still the safest and most customizable of the Big 3. Chrome doens't speed up downloading--only faster internet can do that; it does render pretty fast though but so does Opera. In fact Opera is still the fastest rendering browser if you ask me. But with all of the add-ons available for FF it's far superior to any other browser out there; Ad Block Plus, Video DownLoad, Helper, WOT site rating, Speed Dial...with these and your custom theme you're good to go.

@thepivotnewbie: Are you asking about how to make it so you can type w ___ and immediately search wikipedia, etc? If so:

First, go to the search site (e.g. wikipedia). Right click on the search bar and select "Add a keyword for this search." Then, in keyword, enter the letter you want to associate with that search (for wikipedia, I use w). Save the bookmark. Now when you go to your address bar, enter "w pandas"

You will load Pandas on wikipedia. Of course, it doesn't HAVE to be pandas.

Well the fastest web browser in the world would be My web browser i made with VB 2008 but i made the Buffing and all that shit so high the file was crazy and it didnt respond to some pages :( it has a lot of bugs cause it loads to fast thats why about 0.5 is a good web page waiting

It doesn't track, it just sends usage statisitics and crash reports, which you can turn off. I use it, and I never get spam.

Chrome sucks, yes it is faster but it has major security, piracy and has imaging trouble on certain pages. I also picked up some of my first viruses with this browser, I'll choose security over speed any day.
