  • Definitely agree with #1

  • @WWF4lyfe2010 That's the thing. Why do wrestlers need to be the greatest in the world to have good matches. Go back and watch them, he had amazing PPV quality matches in 2001. Same thing goes for Cena, if he sucks so much, how I can think of 10 great matches he's had. Its not always about in ring skill, its about how well you can work the crowd.

  • the invasion angle would have been extremely difficult if you had the nwo sting and golberg in the mix because whos going to believe the nwo and wcw teaming together to face wwf if they knew the history between the nwo and wcw would have been a clusterfuck to to book this storyline

  • 1997-2002 where the most fun years being a WWF fan :)

  • No surprise , Rock/Austin Wrestlemania X-Seven #1 , It was THE main event

  • Jericho-Rock No Mercy was ranked #1 Match by Raw Magazine's Best of 2001 Austin/Lita Cover Issue

  • 2001 must have been the greatest year for the WWE

  • @MrRodnac Really? Because all people did was BITCH about how bad the Invasion was.. despite the epic greatness of X-7

  • @TheSWFuniverse The problem in the invasion storyline is that the biggest star of WCW are not present like Sting and Goldberg and it focus too much to the Mcmahon. I do wish they would have gotten Bischoff when they started this storyline. But this gives us new match ups and wrestlers such as Booker T and RVD.

  • @MrRodnac I enjoyed 2001 to the highest, but WWE did a great job of making up for it throughout 2002 and 2003 with adding Flair, Goldberg, etc.. in a way maybe this whole thing was better this way..

  • 6 really great matches on here.

  • @RMilvae you mean 15 really great matches on here

  • This is the year that changed wrestling forever. As I do plan on doing a year review on 2001. That year had alot of big things happening

  • No Hardy-RVD from Invasion? I disagree with that, but other then that, great list, mate!

  • Surely Benoit Angle cage match from Raw and jeff hardy rvd from INVASION shud have made the list..........

  • Even a different non-clean finish would've been fine for Angle vs Austin at Summerslam...just not THAT finish.

  • your lists rule

  • if rock vs austin didnt end with austin beat the fuck out of the rock with the steel chair than i would put it the greatest match ever in wm

  • #1 and #2 both bleed the word epic and they both just bleed! XD

  • I knew right off the bat Rock vs Stone Cold was gonna be #1

  • @777Myshit of course they would they were the stars of the attitude era

  • So I saw how HHH vs Undertaker was the #15 on your list. I just knew it was only going to get better since that was an amazing matchup. Excellent list my good sir.

  • Awesome list, Taker vs HHH WM17 #15 you already know this is going to be an immaculate list of classic matches proceeding it. HHH vs Taker WM17 is one of my top matches from my personal collection of fave's.

01 surely has to be one of the top 5 five years in WWE history at least. I'd defo have it in my top 5. Angle, Jericho & Benoit each get worker of the year Award by my for 2001.

WWE relied heavy on Austin again in 01 as loads of main-eventers like Benoit, Rock, HHH etc were out of commission.

  • @ThePacmanClassic True, I bet that 2001 would've been the greatest of all time in entertainment had the big stars stayed away from injury

  • Awesome! So legit! Marked out that you used that Austin Heel theme. Thank you loads for taking our suggestions. Reminds me of 01 loads. 97 reminds me of Raw is War Thorn is Your Eye Warehouse theme & 98 reminds me of Steve Blackman's 1st theme, 99 reminds me of Vince's or 1st Smackdown Theme...I dunno why but they just do for me. I love retro music from all eras really.

  • Great List

But Personally i would have had the Royal Rumble match at #3 (Best Rumble of all time IMO)

and i agree with the Top 2, but its hard to decide which one is better out of the 2 i love both matches

  • Couldn't agree more with your top 2. I feel that the rumble match should have been higher though. That may have been the greatest rumble in history minus Drew Carey.

  • @SaltyDawg12 That Rumble is in my Top 5 Rumbles at least, it was a cracking Rumble mainly thanks to Kane dominating, Drew Carey being funny but doesn't really deserve to be in Hall of Fame for that lol, was very hardcore with weapons scatted everywhere. My top Rumbles in no order are 01,04,03, 92, 97

  • all ur lists are so legit...good work man

  • @Ricok11V2 thanks

  • Good List there.

  • Your of these great matches were on 1 PPV wrestlemaina 17 greatest WWF PPV of all time

  • @Rhyseyboy9000 *Four

  • Great list

2001 was one of the best years in wwe

  • Awesome List again!
