  • Fine song!

    Aloha from Hawaii!

  • Great quartet, tight harmony! Who are they?

  • Wow......such a great treasure! Thanks for sharing.

  • What are they playing?

  • A great glimpse back to the 1930's musical during Hollywood's Golden Age....delightful rendition

  • Daddy used to sing this to me.. Not even many natives remember the words... THANK YOU for posting this...

    Aloha

  • Fine Song!

    Thanks for posting!

    Aloha from hawaii!

  • This version is OK, but the Ted Rio Rita version is best. Also, why does the blond chick just stand there and do nothing?

  • PERFECT! Typical for the 1934 era, a product of it's times. I wouldn't change a thing.

  • i looove tcm faveroite channel!=]

i danced this song when i was little

lol feels like such a long time ago : )

  • It's mutually agreed that this gang would've benefited from a crash course in Hawaiian pronunciation before they shot this.

And it's intriguing that the cute blondie has nothing to do while they're singing in their tuxes. I kept expecting her to have a featured vocal solo, or to at least join in.

  • @hebneh it looks like the blonde was just there to look good lol

  • Well, they sound good but their pronunciation of the Hawai'ian words leaves something to be desired - LOL

Especially on the name of the fish "humuhumunukunukuapua'a"

I'd say their 'hula' dancer needs a few lessons (and maybe a Mai Tai or two to boot). ; D

  • I'd say you need a few lessons in "lightening up."

  • I'd say you're reading a "heaviness" in my post that wasn't there. : )

  • don't swing for shit

  • esta cancion es super relax!! hawaii!!! uju quiero visitarteee!! eres hermosa!!

  • since when is 1930's AMERICAN swing about HAWAII poplar in a mexican eatery? XD doesnt make sense...

  • Love this. I'm tryin' to get it memorized well enough to put on facebook and to play at the Mexican restaurant on Saturday night.

  • lol is nice

  • lol

  • Who sang the original in the US? My dad used to sing this to me.

  • Quite like this, although none of these guys (or the girl) look too Hawaiian to me.

  • i tried poi once. i thought it was chocolate pudding. lol. it wasn't!

wonderful selection! i'd love to know what other kind of stuff you like. so far, eerily close to my own.
