It has to do with the contraversy Hockey already carries in some of the lesser markets in the states...it being to violent. The league doesn't need to also tangle with the chauvenism and mysogenism of it's biggest villain. It has to do with the contraversy Hockey already carries in some of the lesser markets in the states...it being to violent. The league doesn't need to also tangle with the chauvenism and mysogenism of it's biggest villain. When avery doesn't try and steal the spotlight he is a good, effective player. Chirping and his goonery can be effective, but not when you just try to make a spectacle of yourself.
Right now he has a respectable 12 points. he's doing fine for the role he is in. The only person in NY that should have the spotlight right now is Gaborik. And believe me, if avery stepped out of line, John Tortorella would slap him back in place.

The Rangers wanted him (you can only be employed by one team at a time the last time I checked) and the fans in NY love him... I can say for certain you are bitter because the Rangers have annihilated the Leafs every time they met this year... 23 player limit per team, 30 teams, thats 690 players in the NHL. when you get 690 people together, it could be to play a sport, or it could just be 690 people in a big room, chances are someones gonna be an asshole. But yea, if Hockey got that popular, I could see it becoming shitty. At least the people who go to the NHL draft aren't all retards that boo or cheer their teams pick when they have absolutely no clue who that guy is
