  • JOO MUST TELL ME HOW YOU GOT THE JAW TO SNAP SHUT!!

Pleeease i am making a fursuit and da jaw dont even shut rather than snap..I WANT IT TO SNAP!!tell meh and i will pay you!..(a hug)

  • Where do you attach the foam (for the jaw)? Is it supposed to go on the balaclava or the elastic?

  • @TheToxicShadow Well, I looked at her pictures of the head (work in progress) and seems like the elastic has been put on the balaclava first and then the foam... Well, who am I to say anything? I haven't made any masks, especially not with movable jaws! :3

  • @klmnopp112 Haha, thanks, but I've figured it out. x3 It's pretty cool how it works. I'm just about finished with the head. ^^

  • lol

  • This is some ingenious weaponry... I mean... Awesome /fails

  • I just died laughing at the end when you snapped at the camera!! XDDD

  • What kind of black mask/hat do you use

  • dude, that's like totally awesome

  • (30 seconds worth of) ... :D

  • Pretty cool stuff :3

  • I WISH I COULD SEE The finished result

    ^_____^

  • You want to see the finished result? Well I've got videos of it up here on YouTube :)

Just check out my most recent video on my Tusami account or look at my oldest video on my CanineHybrid account.

  • you have to show us how you make that!!!

  • You can always check out the work in progress photos for it on my Flickr gallery (username CanineHybrid). Hopefully that should answer your questions about my costume :)

Also check out the Walkthrough Charizard Costume video here on YouTube. Feel free to ask me if you need more explanation!

  • nice , very nice , should be orange though i think

  • its the mask in progress... to make a fur suit...the fur is put on after you sculpt the head..

  • It was a work in progress, it wasn't colored. ;3

  • its not done there.

  • Ooh, it's been a while since I bugged you about fursuits :3

Anyway, question- where did you get your ninja-mask thinger, and what is it made of? All your costumes look so lightweight and comfy!

  • Sorry for not seeing your reply earlier! Again, I don't check this account that often. To answer your question, the "ninja mask" is known as a balaclava. The brand/model I get is called "Seirus Thermax Headliner Balaclava" and it says it's made from 100% "Polyester Thermax"... which I assume is a Polyester and Lycra/spandex blend. I get them at sporting good stores like REI and Sports Authority in the wintertime. Or you can get them online. ^^

  • lol

  • where can i find that kinda foam to make a mask?

  • I bought this particular brand of foam at Jo-Anns. You can also find high density foam at other fabric specialty stores like Hancock fabrics. It's also at Hobby Lobby and even some Wal-Marts.

  • ha she attacked the camera!

  • Hot glue :3 I stuck it all together with hot glue. Oh and some sewing for the elastic bands

  • thats awesome,it just proves anithing is possible.sometimes we get frustrated when a costume gets messed up,but think of the old movies were there were no special cgi effects.they still made the movie monster cool and realistic with costumes.sorry if the comment is so long thanx for reading and happy holidays.

  • lol

  • looks like croc from grotbags, rod hull and emu

  • Hahaha THATS SOOO COOLL!!

  • It was like watching a cartoon =D

  • would id have been a good idea to strengthen the upper and lower jaw with somtheing or would that just make it more complicated ?

  • Great! I can tell how it works too. This will be a good hing for me to try...

  • that was so cute^_^

  • nicely done base! hehe tissues! om nom nom. Gonna do a pokemon fursuit for my next project. . . .luxray with light up eyes . .oh god what am i doing!?!?!

  • It's called Airtex high density foam. :3

  • Thanks! I'm going to be making a couple Pokesuits in the future, and I've never done it, so I'm trying to get some info from people who actually make them. =)

  • No problem, I was glad to help! Good luck to you as well! I'd love to see what you come up with if you get started on the project. I've also got another Pokesuit done and plan on uploading the video to my CanineHybrid account on Jul 31st.

  • @Arichelic SAME HERE!!! :D (I plan on making swalot, golduck, squirtle, maybe charizard and oshawott (mijumaru))

  • lol awsome, laughed at the end when she attacked the camera =^.^= lol cool, and I love charizard ^^

  • interesting "proto-type" and btw, u do a good job of making the bites sound very "crunchy"

  • I love the balaclava method! Great suit!

  • LOL!!! Loved the last part! Camera man on the menue! XD :D

  • omg that is so cute! :3

  • woah and the moveable jaw how do u make the rubber band or whatever u use attach to the costume jaw?!?

  • Thanks for the comment! The band is elastic and is sewn onto the ski mask/balaclava. The foam is attached with hotglue to the mask. The jaw is two separate pieces: the bottom jaw foam part is glued to the elastic band under my jaw. That way when I open my mouth, it pulls down on the band and opens the mouth. When I close my mouth, the elastic allows it to go back up!

  • OMFG IM SRY BUT HOW DO U MAKE THOSE>!?!?!? I MUST KNOW!!! But even if i do know my mom wontlet me do it D:

  • that sucks!!! IAM sorry =(

  • lol, I had a little help from a tutorial found at: matrices[dot]net/fursuiting[dot]asp

  • that's how it's made? XD

  • Yep! That's the magic behind it all ^^

  • I've been watching a bunch of these videos cause I'm trying to build my first head. One thing I've noticed, what's with the tissues? I've seen this in a few vids? Is it a furry thing? Or just "the thing to do"?

  • lol, the tissues don't really do/mean anything really. It mostly came around due to the fact that someone wanted to show off their moving jaw and was bored/thought it would be cool to show the gripping power of their mask. Tissues work pretty great for that as they require the initial pull to get it out of the box and they're super lightweight. At least that's my guess. I only did it because I saw someone else do it ^^ and I should have waited until I put my teeth on there. Oh well.

  • haha that looks awesome tusi!! tahaaa! DONT EAT THE CAMERAMAN!! whos going to give you sexy narrative in the backgound lol? eat tissues instead- they're good roughage hahah!

  • lol, heheh glad you like it! BUT THE CAMERAMAN IS YUMMEH! And that would be my brother, Kaitomutant

... but true, the tissues are quite delicious...

    XD

  • ahh, I must try some of these american-variety tissues, yes? They sound oh-so delicious!

  • That looks NOTHING like a charizard. Its green.

  • its just the foam, shes gonna fur it soon...

  • ... of course it's green, that's because they don't make orange foam silly! I haven't put the orange fabric on yet. That's why this video is a "Work in Progress" showing the green foam construction of the mask and how it works underneath all the coverings I put on later. And it's ok if you didn't get that, it amused me ^^

  • Chomp those tissues!

  • Wow, great articulation! What process did you use?

  • I used the ski mask/balaclava method with an elastic band :D I used Matrices' tutorial for guidance. Thanks for the comment!

  • Comment removed

  • I guess its a color foam XD...it not finish yet

  • lol! It's green because that's the color of the foam I'm using, it'll be covered in orange fabric later.

And why am I eating tissues?

    Because tissues are yummeh!!! :)

  • Wow! This looks great! How did you make it?

  • Thanks a bunch!

I made it with help from this wonderful tutorial: matrices[dot]net/fursuiting[dot]asp

  • Dude! That is so freakin' cool!^^ I love it! Great job! My friend and I are going to try and make a movable jaw for our furry outfits sometime soon.^^ You're design is simple and looks pretty great! You get alot of action out of the jaw!^^

  • how do u make/get the movable jaw?

  • excellent jaw action!

  • lol yeah! excellent job!*thumbs up*

  • Yay! Too bad you didnt get the wings finished. Oh wells

  • Awsome!!!
