sorry but skate banana blows, too much hype over a heavy board.... ya when it came out, it was good, but this years model blows. i will give you one thing, you didnt buy a burton :)
the skate banana would be a pretty good board for me if I get the money for it.. im on the east coast so i get every type of conditions from ice to powder and i ride park and ill see about getting this board next year
I'm a very experienced rider that charges everything from big mountain lines to park and this is by far the best board i have ever been on! As for the durability of the board it's awesome ands seems to suit me just fine. even the rockiest of conditions( aka big sky montana). Just sack up and get a banana!!!!!!!!!!!
@goofballs911 thats all boards now day, companys now make boards now blunt. its so when something hits the side, it will rase it. cheapness an sleezy bastards want you to buy more lol. just take nail file an round the sides :)
@MisTaHTaKi reverse camber depends on what you get an do, i have a crazy rocker board an i can get some really good pop off it.... unless your a n00b, reverse camber is more for jibs an park. get a ride kink, no camber :) i took one out at a demo, like a limp noodle but has some good pop, one of the funnest boards to ride.
Banana is the way forward. Super fun. Travis Rice rides the new C2 tech, banana between your bindings, plus camber towards the tip and the tail to add stability at the super fast speeds that he rides.
all banana's are going to be pretty decent in powder...if you want a truly specialized banana backcountry/pow board check out the TRS or the 1986 snow mullet. the trs will retain a more jibb/freestyle feel.
bananas and rocker boards are NOT park specialized just because you see all the little "Part Dressers" rockin em in the park doesn't mean you know shit about the tech. behind them do some research deeper rocker (that means more) makes riding in powder easier; flotation better; and turns easier
no, skate banana is PARK SPECIALIZED board! Of course, it will work fine anywhere, as most boards do. You can use a backcountry board in the park if you want, it's just not specialized for that purpose.
The Skate Banana is the best all mountain board on the market. Great in pow, great in parks, great on ice, great for jibbing. The rocker is focused between the riders feet. The tip and tail are floating. Step on a skate banana and engage the tip and tail contacts. GNU Park Pickle is now available. BTX+assym. RideaBanana foo. Jamie Lynn, Travis Rice, Mark Landvik, Eric Jackson, Danny Kass, Sammy Luebke, Zach Leach, Jesse Burtner love Skate Bananas. Everything is going SB. That's It That's All
@stanfro yeah buddy just got the last years t rice hawk/eagle whatever the fuckanimal it is. the thing has about 8 contact points all around the edges. ganna be a great season. stevens is better
@stanfro i got to try the pickle last season and compared it to my banana, it has a super aggressive heel sidecut, took a bit of adjusting and getting used to. Great vid, mad pow, That's it... nvm.... :D
I'm 5'6" 145-150 lbs. I'm thinking of getting a skate banana 152. I live and ride in Whistler. Will this suffice? I usually ride a 156 or 157. I ride everything but like most I live for pow.
i would never get a akate bannana if u live in whistler. look at something like the rome agent or an all around board that focuses on freestyle. skate bannana is for jibbin.
@trogdor187 it's NOT reversed camber. Reversed camber would be a tip to tail "rocker" like the Forum chillydog. Not gonna post a lib-tech nut-riding comment, but you kids need to do research before talking shit on the #1 snowboard of all-time haha.
A 152 should suffice for most days. My bro's about 5'8" 140 and he rode a 152 in Kicking Horse backcountry last year without any problems. Might want to size up a little though.
dude, trogdor187 was right. you asked for advice then acted like an asshole. skate banana is a park specialized board. though most boards will "work" well enough in most areas, the skate banana is NOT specialized for backcountry/deep-powder riding. yeah, this guy is using one back country. maybe most days he rides park? maybe he doesn't know what the board is specialized for? maybe he's a moron?
a 156 banana should do just as well if not better than a 162 in any other board. im 6 ft and i want a versitile board that i can jib with and plow tha pow with so im goin a 156. but if youre gunna be doin a bit more growing than i would get a 159
It's like near The Chute i think? It's just a guess- more so like a sharp right before North Face begins. i'm not 100% sure it could be near the natural half.

Travis Rice does not use Banana tech boards in either That's It That's All (other than like 2 shots) or Neverland (new Absinthe 2009 movie).

I actually ended up getting an MC Kink 153. It's a bit stiffer and wider than the skate banana 152. Thanks for the advice!

if im just over 6ft what size skate banana am i looking at i will grow a bit more and i sometimes ride pow deeper than this
maxsnowboard 3 years ago
159, since the ride 3cm smaller.
im 5'9" and i can rock the 156 in 2 feetof wet and heavy
BlastMasterDeph 3 years ago
I'm 6'/220lbs and I had no problems with a 156. You definitely need to size down though -- I went from a Lib Dark 161W.
159 will likely perform better in the pow though.

How's that nana on pow? Not much powder in S Cal, a lot of slush at Bear Mtn, and it just pushes it around, awesome.
