hello everyone, kind of funny how people get so het-up about different cards like they MADE them or something! hehe. Anyway 2 questions as im a massive Noob and dont really care that im no jedi at this stuff. 1. why does my GTX 280 have a 6pin and an 8 pin -2. can i use my 540W PSU to run this card safely?

v-sync syncronise frames with your monitor if oyu have 60hertz on then max will be 60fps in the game

your dumb, since you don't understand what Vsync is, with Vsync off, you experience Image Tearing, besides this card can handle it, so you may as well just turn it on.

@1981z28camaro I've always turned off vsync on my games, I seem to always lose 10fps or so with it on, and the tearing is there if you look closely, but I've never noticed it without looking for it, its such a small problem that happens in like 1/ 1000th of a second or so.

lol, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and so I notice little things.

10 fps isn't a huge loss in frame rate, if your getting 80 fps, and you end up getting 70 fps when V-Sync is enabled, that's not enough reason to disable it, you wont even notice the loss, and your gameplay will be buttery smooth :-)

BUT of course if your getting like 30 fps, and you enable Vsync, and get 15 fps, then yeah, don't enable it, lol

it's just the slight screen tearing, looks incorrect, looks bad to me.

i have this card, but it still kinda chugs when you throw up AA, Crysis runs ok on max 1680x1050 with 2x AA, any more and it chugs. Cod4 runs over 100 frames but put 4x AA and it drops to 30-40 in certain areas with lots of vegetation. I dont mind it, everything runs like lightning with minimal AA. The problem now is finding games to play....the only game I even play on my pc is cnc3kw lol. Oh, and im using e8400 oc to 4ghz. Will a quad core solve my problems?

1 thing do not use those converters......it is not recomended, they just included it in the box till u buy a proper Powersupply...i Recommend Antec quattro 1000watt powersupply, why cuz i have it and i know it works

Yeah sure, but although I bought an SLI pair of XFX 280's overclocked ( they were a real bargain) it's cheaper to just buy stock and overclock the shit out of it.

I got my 640Mhz factory overclocked GTX's at 721Mhz. I'm pretty sure you could do the same with a stock pair, saving yourself a bucket load of cash.

How big are they going to go with these things?...they get bigger and bigger and consume more power...I think it's some kind of fucking conspiracy or something, they have the technology to make these things small as hell and consume very little power, just like they had the LCD technology 25-30 years ago yet they only introduced it to the public barely 10-12 years ago...they have the technology, but they introduce it whenever they want...you can't tell me in 2009 they are making these things.

You camera does not have to be HD. If you save Sony Vegas Pro 8, Rendering using the WMV9 Codec and use the 720p 25fps Settings. Is that good enough?

You can do Tri-Fire on the Spider Platform (AMD790FX) it's even on Tom's hardware 3870x3

I will give over to the idea that the Dunia Engine runs best on Nvidia cards (ive seen people with 7900GTs playing fine on medium)
