she is now in ICU she got really sick and ended up swalling some vomit and caught a infection and she is hooked up to the most intense life support in ontario at the moment and theres nothing i can do about it except go in and tell her i love her and to keep fighting strong and just play the waiting game untill she comes through its really tough going through this but tog is helping me get through this in so many ways.... gotta keep praying

@capturethelife Jesse has always been far superior in KsE that Howard. 'Alive Or Just Breathing" is an album that will go down in history, it wouldn't be what it is without Jesse's vocals and songwriting.

I think why KsE's last album was not as good as the other albums is mainly because Adam D slid over to the side and let Mr. O'Brien produce for the the band, also. Thank God almighty Adam D just slid over and did not just completely let Brendan produce everything to change the whole band horribly. Just my thoughts.

They CHOSE to go in a more melodic direction. It would have happened even if Adam had been producing it like normal. Bands evolve and change. When they don't, it usually means they're not that talented. People need to get used to it. I'm confident that their next album will be even better too

In the last album those songs were like For You, This Is Absolution, Desperate Times, and Reject Yourself. Those song really had lots and lots of feeling in them which almost made me cry sometimes and I don't really cry at all. One of the songs on Killswitch Engage self titled I really liked was In a Dead World. I am also anticipating their knew album! I love playing this song on guitar!

My guess is that whether you feel the album as much or not is dependant on what time in your life you listened to it first. I listened to the newest one at a point where I understood the melodies better than the others.

@ZaXo00 I love all albums each in their own way. Let me correct; all Howard albums. I dont like Jesse's vocals in KSE, I love him now, hes gotten VERY good, but I dont like him in KSE, I love Howards version more. Regardless. Howard apparently said in an interview that he thought metal was dying so he wanted to make the album more friendly for a wider audience. I personally think its a great album, has very cool slow melodic songs but still the brutal stuff like Reckoning.
@Direksone I actually agree. I can listen to, and enjoy KsE with Jesse, but I don't much care for his vocals from back then either. He's great now. Besides, I'm a melodic vocalist lover at heart. I can't get enough of the vocals from bands like Kamelot, Angra, Starbreaker, Andre Matos, etc. And as far as I'm concerned, with his huge power, big range, and operatic vibrato, Howard fits in perfectly with that crowd of vocalists. @Direksone But as for melodic singing, I have to have it. Singing to me is much like lead guitar or backround strings (violins, etc). When done right, it accents the rest of the music and makes it much more powerful.
Roy Khan from Kamelot; wow, his voice is perfect. So soothing, but so powerful. Check out a couple songs he's sung in, like Epilogue (Kamelot), When The Lights Go Down (Kamelot), Silent Crying (Conception... his old band), and Water Confines (Conception). He'll blow your mind!
@Direksone I probably get it from listening to classic metal when I was a wee lad, lol. I grew up on Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Scorpions, etc. All of them had tons of melody and crazy vocals. I listened to heavier stuff like Slayer and Testament too, but I grew out of it and more into the melodic stuff.
D'you by any chance like solo piano stuff? There's a guy who did Rose Of Sharyn and My Last Serenade covers on the piano. They're awesome! His YouTube is seantownsend01. He does others too.
I understand you completely. Unfortunately...as of March, Khan actually left Kamelot. He actually burned out late last year while on tour, so he left so he could recover and be with his wife and son. As sad as it is to see such an amazing singer leave such a phenomenal band, I want him to be happy and healthy.

Howard might retire? He could not attend a few gigs because of personal matters, however he is back now. They are currently working on another album, So I'd love to see any links for these supposed rumours.
@danobrien2468 all music producers would kill each others to get their hands on them and the other artists wouldnt be listened anymore, causing the music world to fall in pieces. Chuck Norris would than see that a group of people are close to being as great as him so he would roudhouse kick the group, who would be accepted as the music bands in heavens, so we wouldnt have gained even an album from them.

@RoseMetalKSE meh dont agree. Howards vocals are beastly, especially live. They are just different. Howard used to be better trained than Jesse but Jesse has grown a LOT! Both awesome vocalists, just different. I prefer Howards work in KSE but Jesse is fucking badass in TOG!

Howard might retire? He could not attend a few gigs because of personal matters, however he is back now. They are currently working on another album, So I'd love to see any links for these supposed rumours.

@danobrien2468 all music producers would kill each others to get their hands on them and the other artists wouldnt be listened anymore, causing the music world to fall in pieces. Chuck Norris would than see that a group of people are close to being as great as him so he would roudhouse kick the group, who would be accepted as the music bands in heavens, so we wouldnt have gained even an album from them.

@RoseMetalKSE meh dont agree. Howards vocals are beastly, especially live. They are just different. Howard used to be better trained than Jesse but Jesse has grown a LOT! Both awesome vocalists, just different. I prefer Howards work in KSE but Jesse is fucking badass in TOG!
